California Travel Tips host Veronica Hill tours Lake Havasu Az, London Bridge, Topock and Needles in this special Lake Havasu Travel Guide.
Located on the border of California and Arizona, about 300 miles from Los Angeles, Lake Havasu sits along the Colorado River with Parker Dam to the south and Davis Dam to the north.
Lake Havasu hotels include the chic new Lake Havasu hotel Heat and the Lake Havasu London Bridge Resort, home to the popular nightclub, Kokomos. Colorado River camping is available at The Islander Resort in Lake Havasu and Crazy Horse Campground. Havasu Palms and Black Meadow Landing are popular down near Parker Dam, and Palms River Resort is a good choice near Needles. In 2009, Pirate Cove Resort and the Naked Pirate Beach Bar opened in Needles to the delight of Lake Havasu party people.
Along the river, there are a few gas stations for boaters. Topock Marina is one of the most popular stops, and its bar and grill serves up great burgers, ribs and other American barbecue fare. If you're looking for another great place to cool off with a cold drink, the Naked Turtle Beach Bar at Nautical Inn Resort in Lake Havasu always has a party going on.
Speaking of parties, while you're here, don't miss Spring Break Lake Havasu hot spots like Copper Canyon, popular for cliff diving; Steamboat Cove, popular for Lake Havasu boat parties, and the famous sandbar in Topock Gorge.
Topock Gorge Havasu National Wildlife Refuge, home to Indian petroglyphs and bighorn sheep, is also a popular spot for birding, Colorado River rafting and kayak or canoe Colorado River trips. The Colorado River water current averages 3 mph here, and it's a lovely place to beach your boat and spend the day.
When planning your Lake Havasu vacation, remember that Lake Havasu weather averages about 110-119 F during the summer, and up to 100 F at night. Be sure to pack plenty of water, sunblock and food when going out on the boat.

I’m moving back out there in a little less than a month! I CANNOT WAIT !! It’s so much more than a resort town, the locals there are so generous and friendly, the schools are amazing and we never had an incident with bullying. Everyone there is so amazing! I can’t wait to be back!

Veronica, before I vacationed in CA, I viewed your videos. I recommend Laguna Beach to any visitor. I relaxed & enjoyed the beach by Forest Avenue. The water wasn't that cold. The shops on the streets were super. I recommend this beach to any visitor! Thanx for the videos!!!

It's very fun, but you definitely need a boat or some sort of watercraft to see the sights. If not, you're pretty much stuck in one place along the river. The English Channel is where most people hang out on busy weekends.

Thanks for your comment! I love Lake Havasu, especially when there are no crowds. London Bridge is great. I'm not into the party scene, so off season is best for me!

Ah yes, all good places. We stayed at Nautical Inn once but the room was pretty beat up - at least our room. Have you been to the Palms? Our friends say it's a lot of fun.

Lol. Funny comment DrSkipper1000. This lake on it's own is beautiful. It's nice to go mid week to avoid the crowds. In the 90's MTV used to feature their spring break parties here. This lead to the invasion of party goers that you see in our video.

ive been there in august and it was so amazing. it was the heat record at that day with 140 degrees. you couldnt sleep in the nights because it was still so hot. one cool thing ist that there are donkeys all around the lake visting the campsites sometimes :D

In the beginning of this video you see a guy on a hovercraft. I own a hovercraft and can tell you from personal Experience that they and all air boats are illegal on the colorado river. Trust me, don't even try. And the sad thing about this is that Game and fish are the guys that registered it for use on the water. go figure. I wouldn't want anyone to be mislead into thinking this is okay. O-ya, great video. Thanks you
