Thinking about doing a week on the skyline trail. I see plenty of trees, is it safe to assume there are plenty of spots to hang a hammock instead of a tent?
The Skyline Trail in on my to-do list as well. I believe it's around 60 miles? Be aware that you will probably encounter snow this time of year at that altitude, but that also means you should have sufficient trees for hammock camping. It will be chilly at night, so make sure your hammock is properly insulated. As always, thanks for watching and please like, share, and subscribe. Have fun and be careful out there.
@@BacktrailVentures thinking around Septemberish. I have a 20 degree under quilt for my hammock. Tents do not get along with my back. Thanks for the reply!
Didn't bring my rod. But I did remember a few campers fishing. Not sure how successfully. The hike, summit, and lake was a great time. The return hike has an alternate trail which you should check out. I'll try it next time. Thanks for watching 😊
I went to the same lake a year ago and made a similar video. also, idk if you've been to spirit lake up there, but if you haven't, its a lot of fun as well. we did that trip around the same time yall were up there this year!
Spectacular! Beautiful New Mexico vistas in such an awesome section of New Mexico. I am headed out next week on a 4 night 5 day trek and I am going to film it for my channel as well.
Beautiful area and a great trail system if you research more than I did. Just remember if you're looking for solitude, it can be extremely crowded on weekends especially.
