Why back in 2018 Some six years ago already gosh it’s gone quickly Lake Macquarie city Council decided to change the way they pick up garbage bins in the council, so instead of just having green waste in the green bins Lake Macquarie city council now except food scraps, which I’m sure you all know about called FOGO. However, since some people have lots of people living in their homes, they are more likely to produce a lot more (general waste) so residents can opt for a weekly kerbside pick up garbage bin service, but since not everybody has a weekly garbage service any more, if you want your bin to be picked up weekly in Lake Macquarie you have to go onto councils website and fill in all the details and why you want your bin to be weekly serviced, but even peoples bins who get picked up weekly who opted for this to happen, they can still have their Green bins emptied weekly and their recycling bins emptied fortnightly. So in this video, we have one of my neighbours bins, which is the smaller bin, the first bin in the clip, and that is a weekly service bin and the second bin in this clip, the bigger red bin is my bin and we opted for this to happen through council’s website. Opted means organised by the way. So basically this is how it works: apart from people who op for their red bin to be picked up weekly one week it is red bin and green bin week and the other week it’s recycling and green bin week however people who get a weekly service garbage bin for them one week, it could be recycling, garbage and Green waste and the other week just green waste and garbage and featuring in this video is recycling and garbage with everybody else’s green bins out.
