This is great but seems fishy, like the water was stored somewhere else and returned or weather modification (which is admitted for rain) was used, I dunno, does not seem possible from what all the previous data claimed. Not a complaint just a head scratcher.

I live near lake Michigan and have seen it fluctuate so much over the last 60 years that when the lake Mead videos were coming out and "the sky was falling" , I knew it is only a cycle. 8 to 10 years ago they were dredging some of the channels to the big lake and 3 years ago cottages were falling into the lake because it was so high. That is the way of nature, ebb and flow.
@colinklang
@colinklang 9 месяцев назад
I live near a river and thought the same thing. Sometimes, it's barely a trickle, and a little rain or good snow melt then it's flooding. It all works out in the end.
@kimberlycoffman9478
@kimberlycoffman9478 9 месяцев назад
The ebb and flow is normal for lake mead and Powell even during our droughts. It does get low and has been BUT this kind of loss was extremely too fast. Not a normal thing. Man made? Idk but definitely suspicious.
@kevinholm9572
@kevinholm9572 9 месяцев назад
There are a lot of things that affect the levels of both lake mead and lake Powell. Certainly snow pack and rainfall have massive effect on how quickly it fills, but what drains it has had a far greater impact and caused more change over the last 60 years. Cut off the demand these reservoirs could fill back up in a very short amount of time. Population growth, agriculture, and water demands down river have dramatically increased over the last 30 years. So, What is man's greatest impact on these reservoirs? The answer is demand.

I lived there 4th-8th grade in the early 80s (my dad was stationed at Nellis) We had a boat and spent endless weekends at Lake Mead (we always launched from Callville) We left the summer of 83 and the water was so high it was going over the spillways. Between 1960 and 1964 we lived in Boulder City up on the hill above this beautiful lake. All year long on the weekends, we would either fish, water ski, or camp. I have tons of memories and thanks for this video. This was the best years for a young teenager. I also learned to drive pop's truck and drive the boat. Camping locations was always across the lake in some isolated cove with sandy beaches. This was a great time for our family. @@tommurphy4307 It would take many, many years of wet winters to get the lake full again. I doubt I'll see it happen in my lifetime, (although my inner optimist is saying it could happen.) Today in MN, the humidity is ONLY 65%. And 94°. 😢 I got married in Vegas in 2000. The water was high, only 2 sections on the intake were showing. Still had bathtub ring showing tho. Got to see them blow out the sediment thru the outlets - all 8 opened, very cool to see! Hopefully, you guys get to see it someday! Love these reports - Love Lake Mead! Thanks guys!

Super stoked about the deluge of rain forecasted for this weekend. Can't wait to see how much more this rain will cause Lake Mead to rise. 16 feet and still more to come. Looking forward to that video. #Agua

That's a good thing!! Nice to see the water level coming back up. Pray for the monsoon season and Winter to bring even more water to help bring up the lake!! I like that new hat that Sr. is wearing, nice looking!! Yet again, another great outdoor adventure on my favorite lake!! Plus ➕️ it was another family outing, good memories to last a lifetime and for the next generations to see.

If you're willing, run over to the Temple Bar Marina and South Cove Marina. I saw a video a while back showing both were closed. I used to launch from both fish in the South Cove area. Work has kept me in Colorado for a while. These videos help me keep tabs on the lake I loved to chill and relax at every weekend.
