Great review of the Madison Chain of Lakes, water colors, weed line depths, fish species... Your pointing out of productive spots and depths helps remind us of Buck Perry’s teachings no matter what lake we are fishing. Outstanding that you were able to get your kids out for a day of fishing. I completely forgot how much you use a three-way and the success you have because you do use it. Probably will review one of your older videos that describes the three-way setup again. Wishing you and your Family all the Best.
I love all four of the Madison lakes. I fish them all. Can't say which one is my favorite in particular, though I fish Monona the most because I'm a panfisherman mostly and Monona has the most panfish by far. A little bit smaller fish but not by much. BTW, when water levels are higher it is possible to navigate from Kegonsa all the way to Mendota. I have a friend that typically does that on the Fourth of July every year. But they know where the rocks are in the lower Yahara (from Kegonsa to Upper Mud there are some nasty boulders!).
It was a great review of the lake . But hilariously funny how painful and unnatural it was for the kids to have to say dads slogan. “ Get some more”” 😂😂
Great video you are a great teacher appreciate you taking the time to go through all the hard work to share this with others. Have a important question in my book should I consider side imaging and Garmin livescope to have as an aide ? I feel like I may be falling behind as an old-timer but would you consider these an important aid nowadays to help us in our quest to catch fish and trophy fish ?
I don't use side imaging or have live scope. They could both help, but in my opinion it would be a big distraction and then cause you to get sloppy in mapping and presentation. I always get asked if I see or if I'm looking for fish on the sonar. I never do. When I am catching them good, I look and rarely see them on the screen anyway.
