Lake Okeechobee Largemouth Bass! Catch, Fillet, Cook and EAT!!! 

It’s nice to see someone catch, clean, and eat bass. I grew up on them too. I love the points made by the guys about how they can become over populated. It’s to the species benefit to remove some and enjoy them at the table. It was a good thing to do years ago to tell folks to practice catch and release, but we’re smart to take some out. Thanks for a great show!

My great grandparent life in okeechobee and my grandpa has congestive heart failure and my grandma has pneumonia they are both in the hospital and watching your vids really help me get over the thought of my great grandparents going to heaven... I love bass fishing!! Here in Upstate N.Y. Bass are a favorite sport fish that is one of the best eating fish out there! The filet's are nice white firm meat with a mild delicate flavor that can be enhanced by adding certain flavors such as lemon, garlic, ginger, rosemary, or mushrooms and onion. Whatever your tastebuds crave you can't go wrong with Bass, Everglades, and an egg wash and panko bread crumbs and deep fry. The absolute best!! Thank you Rob and God Bless.

After I became Disabled with Multiple Sclerosis, those guys I always took fish to, would come to my house to visit, and would always bring Fruits, and Vegetables. It is always a blessing to have them over.

Wow thats great he lost all that weight. I really hope he continues to get well and take care of his health. My Mother had the same health issues as him but she didnt make it. I watched her pass away in front of me from a heart attack at home back in June of this year. 5 days before my bday... I also lost my bestest friend months before my mother from health issues related to being overweight. She was only 26... Ive learnt to not take my health for granted and I'm praying that God gives me strength to mantain a healthy liefstyle because its not easy at all.

you should totally make your own cook book (featuring everglades seasonings), with recipes along with other info about fishing, hunting and skinning. i would totally buy that. also keep up the great work!

I had one of the best weekends of my life with my father in law this past April on Lake Okeechobee. We hired a guide and left that same dock on Friday morning and caught fish all day long using the exact same method. We spent Saturday and Sunday fishing from our G3 using what we learned from our guide and caught fish like crazy both days. I had big fish at 8.3 lbs. I am new to your channel and have been watching like crazy. Never spent much time saltwater fishing so it brought it all home to me when I got to this video. Thanks for doing what you do and sharing with the rest of us. I fish Santee lake here at home in SC and have ordered my DMFD filet knife.

I love the fact that you say the blessing every time before you eat something and not afraid to show it. People are so afraid of offending someone by showing it. Who ever doesn't like the taste of bass is really missing out on something good. Can't wait to watch the next deer meat for dinner video.

Thanks Rob - We were handed a bunch of bass fillets the other night and I was at a loss. I know how to cook salt water fish but I'm not a fresh water fish fan. When I saw him soak the fillets in a cold salt water bath and then put the low sodium Everglades (which we use), I knew what to do. Perfectly timed video - THANKS again ~ Karen in Lake Wales.

It always blows me away when people talk about bass being ONLY a sport fish. Bass are some of the best fish in the lake, "my opinion". I was raised on bass also. Thanks for the video and thumbs up for giving thanks to the one that deserves it all.

Hey Rob, I been traveling for both military and now civilian career for over 24yrs. I have recently found and subscribed your videos and it seems we either grew up or travel to most all the same areas. Makes me wonder how we missed encountering one another through all these years. Especially in Florida anywhere between Keys and Okeechobee. Yesterday I saw your BIG gator video and you mentioned 'Lightseys restaurant' then today i see you went with Capt Eddie from Gerrards. That is definitely my favorite go-to place since childhood. At Gerrards the older father has passed some years ago but nowadays I really like Lief and Festus because they are always helpful, friendly, and willing to point you in the right direction. Next time i'm travelling back in State we gotta connect. I have been gone tooooo long and I need to spread my fathers ashes near our old fishing spot in the Keys and probably spend a week or so to reminisce and enjoy memories. I need to make the most my down time before travelling again.

I am from NE Oklahoma, and NW Arkansas, I used to catch two Stringers of big Perch, and Bass, I would also catch 1, or 2 big Carp. I would take the Carp and 1 stringer of fish to some Mexican guys I knew, and 1 stringer full I would take to my mom (RIP), she loved Perch. I just loved catching them, and giving them to people who needed it.

I love eating bass. The good thing about bass too is they have no limit on them so you catch and keep as many as you want.

Hi im 10 and i love fishing. I watch your vids alot. Ive caught ,Perch, Bluegill. And large minows

I always cook my bass on a griddle with everglades seasoning. Been using it for atleast 20 years. Best way to cook bass! Also, another really good way is to deep fry it using "Drakes Batter"!! I try to stay away from fried food, but it is a nice treat. I gotta go fishing more!!!
