On our trip we camped at the Desert Tortoise Campground-enjoy the spectacular views from one of the premier walk-in campsites with easy lake access.
Then join us on our journey on one of the most scenic hikes in the area where you’ll see some of the best views of Lake Pleasant from Yavapai Point.

can i bring a tent and camp overnight at desert tortouse? i was told by friend i cant,

Yes, if you reserve a site. I camped with only a tent when I was there. There are some sites, like the one i reserved, that are “Tent Only” walk in sites (it’s a short walk). I think you can also tent camp at the RV sites, but you’ll be charged the RV rate (which is more than the tent only rate.”

22$ check in at 2pm maybe 1, 8 more if you reserve it and the place is full of burro poop and people are too close.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We didn't have any problems with the sites being too close together, since our site was a walk-in tent only site and there was only 1 other tent site nearby.
