there are very few slice of life games out there and I really felt like this game hit the mark for me in that way, definitely a good game to chill out with when you get tired shooting and killing things all the time in other games

This feels like it could be a prototype to something a lot more in-depth. You could tell that they were trying to win you over with that small-town charm, but it failed to convince me. Things like the lack of facial animations and everyone but the side characters not being in to receive packages didn't fit in made the game feel very hollow. SPOILERS At the end of the game at the party, a room full of people all just stood there like zombies, no drinks, no food, while your character talks to just a handful of people.

It‘s a game about midlife crisis and about what‘s important in life. I actually enjoyed it a lot because it is dull. On the sunday I finished it a customer called me, stressing me out about some changes for a project. Maybe I need 2 weeks off driving in a van as well. But it is true, the game could be improved upon by adding the ability for more and deeper relationships.

Personally I loved this game. I liked it because of how boring it is. I liked just driving around and playing music in the background and deliver mail. I didn’t care much about the plot, I didn’t like talking to everyone except for Angie. I chose to go with her and I wish there was more to the ending. But honestly, I would recommend it to someone who has a lot of patience and can appreciate the nature and driving aspect more than the actual plot and dialogue. But I do completely agree with the review. It is a boring game but some like boring games and some don’t.

hey Sam, great review. I just played a few hours of this and share a lot of your thoughts. The slow van driving and the deliveries are feeling a bit mundane but I'm a sucker for the aesthetics and the relationship stuff is not bad.. btw, awesome to see the channell popping off! Definitely coming to you guys when I want to sus out a game next.

I would have been happy for this game to enter early access and for them to get some community feedback. Not gonna lie, I am a little disappointed. Hopefully, they can keep working on it before it gets buried under all the other games coming out.

I finished this game in game pass. Took me 7h. I have a mixed feelings. To me it is like an average game with a plus which is it gave me this relaxed feeling through the first week of driving the delivery truck (this sadly wear off later on, and become boring). It feels like number of things or choices do not really matter everything is barely scratching the surface. In one instance I deny a further conversation with a character and the next they it continued like we did have this conversation and agreed upon something we never discussed. If you already have game pass you might give it a try, if you are not a big fan of walking sims - stay away. As I mentioned to me this is an average experience (5/10). And I liked many games like: SOMA, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Firewatch, What Remains of Edith Finch, The Stanley Parable that all might be classified as walking sims.

Empty buildings is one of my least favorite things in any game from GTA to Zelda. At least make a room with a simple item or small detail inside. Wish the devs had more time/budget. This will be a chill game to pick up on sale and play on a Sunday afternoon/evening before bed.

is the story good?

Good honest review. I think it's a gentle slice-of-life game but unfortunately it feels a bit rushed or unfinished. It goes for that West Coast's small town feeling, however, it's world-building is not up to standards known from Life is Strange or Firewatch. Characters are interesting but the game lacks interactions which would bring them more to life. For example, I agreed to take lady's cat to a local amateur vet and then stopped by, expecting she would ask something about that but she responded only with some generic phrase. I would also welcome option to explore the stuff laying around, maybe read something from newspapers, look at leaflets, posters (just like in Life is Strange). I feel like local radio station also had more potential. Anyways, I'd recommend this to anyone who likes walking simulators or who really loves small town atmosphere.

I'd have to agree with everything except for the fact that you wouldn't recommend playing the game. I felt it was a decent game that could have been great. It felt unfinished, and like there were some great ideas that just weren't fully realized. Delivering mail and interacting with people in the town? Great idea! Unfortunately there aren't enough interactions, there's barely any traffic so the place feels like a ghost town, and the radio station features like 3 songs. I would say this game is worth playing in short bursts. I played it for "free" on gamepass when I had a week off during the christmas break and I only played for long enough to do one delivery round every day. THAT is the way I would recommend playing it, otherwise it certainly would have become very monotonous very quickly

Well I’m half way through it currently my mrs watched me play it and she said it was boring but I’m really enjoying it it’s a nice escapism from real life play as a character we all want to be who doesn’t want to rekindle old friends go back to there hometown and remember why you loved growing up there it’s a bit of sims and a bit walking dead choices with the beauty of a lake side town in the 80’s

Hmmm... I might try it out just remind me of Firewatch or Hallmark channel, Virginia River, or I just wait to review what they say about this game. Or do I go ahead and try it out and see how the game is? Then I review it on Xbox One. I'm glad to be happy to help out.

Playing this on Xbox one.it’s alright.I was a little excited to finally play it , but gosh, not much going on for the frame rate to tank so bad.The first State of Decay plays faster and better with much more going on. A lot of stuttering and a little ugly on the texture front.needed a little more optimization before release.

I really like relaxing games. But this looks unfinished. It would be great if the town you are visiting at least would be more alive. If you could interact with more things it would be more fun. And also do side missions. I'll pass, unless I can play it for free on PlayStation in the future. The game Road 96 with similar graphic style looks a lot more fun.

I played it and the best part was the music quite frankly. The surroundings were beautiful but the ending was Anti-Climatic. I thought about playing it again and forming no relationships to see what happens. Yet I will say that it was kind of relaxing to play.

Someone should use the assets from this game to remake Deadly Premonition.

This is a pretty cool game, i'm not gonna lie, but, there are some things that makes it flat, idk. The ambient is good tho.

Couple suggestions for you. Your tone of voice is as if you're speaking to a room of toddlers! Think it's because you're reading a written script word for word. It's good that it's clearly spoken but would be better to loosen up if you can. The opening portion sounds a lot like you're reading directly from the promo material. It's great to have a summary of the game's key concepts, but try to give it your own spin. There's a few bits you can expand upon in the narrative. When you say there's plenty of other games that provide a similar but better experience, you could name some to give people an idea of where else to look. The mic quality and the editing are great though. Hope this is useful for future videos!

Played it on gamepass for the Xbox series S. And I must say. I lost interest up to a. Point where the diner was getting ready to hold a karaoke night I couldn't stand the game much longer after that delevering the mail is repetitive hearing her say it must be bills too many times is boring

Agreed. Looks nice, but quite buggy/unpolished (your shadow looks like a skeleton, I found invisible stairs somewhere, can't move freely around the world, skip button does not work) and uninteresting encounters. Terrible, TERRIBLE selection of songs on the radio. Very dialogue-heavy, no plot other than 'exploring' relationships. This is a game for middle-aged women.
