I escaped the Melbourne lockdown to spend time at the beach house at Metung. Due to the mad rush, no fishing gear was packed!
I put together some snapped lake rods laying around the house (one of which is paired with a surf reel) and went offshore to hunt the elusive Gummy Shark.

The Slapper is a heavily modified Brooker with welded pontoons. I'll do a walk around video soon. She has a brand new Tohatsu 50hp 2 stroke.

I use navionics on my phone and sounder. Although just relying on the phone as my sounder was in for a warranty claim. The new shading feature on the phone app is awesome for finding drop offs and ledges to target fish.

Ah wow man. I’m selling my quintrex dory tiller steer. It’ll be a sad day as I’ve been driving it since I was 11-12 years old! I much prefer tiller steer as you have way more immediate control of the vessel. My new boat has welded pontoons and is extremely stable so I’ve made the call to go to the centre console world! It’s been a while since fishing marlo way. Maybe I’ll catch you at Conran one day!
