It's good to see you doing a video and I know it is a lot of work. I am a guild member and miss the instructions you were sharing. There is a lot that a person can learn building a stick frame and also use that information or techniques on log or timber frame. So don't stop completely. By the way, the little log shed in the back ground looks great. I followed it from start to finish.

Great video Noah, and really helpful to me. My ears perked up when in this video you mentioned that you were 66 years old as I am. You see I have decided to build my own home in the near future as making the outrageous mortgage payments on this California home are just too excessive for the wife and me. We want to downsize but yet build a small timber frame home using milled logs from a future property or purchased Doug Fir logs. With your videos and future Academy purchase, I feel that we can achieve our goal of a more affordable home. Thank you for the effort you have put into these resources! We are blessed to have found you.

I glean lots of information from all your videos, regardless the materials you use. The stone fireplaces are my favorite, though. I'm glad you are alright and thank you for giving us you time and knowledge.

I confess that I too was pretty shocked when you announced you were building a stick frame house since your whole claim to fame has been in the log cabin/timber frame/stone work realms. There's SO much available on youtube about stick framing and precious little about those other building techniques, which your audience is searching for...me at least. Hey,i am having a shipping crate made for me at a local pallet company made from oak for the base and popalar for the sides and top.. i saw a older video you did on making your own sealer from mineral spirits, linseed oil and canning wax. When i get this im adding battons and brace to it and just simply cut out the door on the top and bottom.. but i regress.. its rough cut wood,which i like the look of... do you "have" to sand it or will the wood absorb it just the same.. im trying to retain that its a shipping crate,it's only 4'8"w x 8xL x 6H .. i even have a tiny woodstove for it "spark potbelly" gonna call it "The crate escape " for my off grid camper cabin

Noah, in your past episode on outside finish using thinner, linseed oil n wax. I’m wondering if beeswax would a replacement?? Your thoughts please. Best, Jim
