@fattony9227 The President/GM are in charge of personnel decisions like hiring the coach. I don't want Jeanie or any other ownership group in the way anymore. Hire competent personal, cut the checks, stay out the way.
I think we could all agree that even if you are one of the ones that are “critiquing” him, there are just as many people that are hating on him because of who is father is, that’s just a fact. It’s not conjecture or an opinion - people simply dislike/hate him.

I've been saying that for years! Ever since Jeanie Buss took over the Lakers have gone downhill. Thank goodness they have 17 titles and plenty of lifetime accomplishments and achievements to really not have to worry this setback. But hopefully it's not too long before there are some positive changes.
GTJr would immediately be one of the best 3&D players for the Lakers. This is a MASSIVE and inexcusable miss from Rob Pelinka. His incompetence can't be put into words based on the past few offseasons.
This may be GTJ rejecting the Lakers and preferring the Bucks.... Due to a starting role.... I don't think he's a starter level player anyway.... So this is a good thing for the Lakers...

Im 38, Ive seen the Lakers win 6 titles in my lifetime as an active fan and I feel blessed to have done so. Going to have to hold on to those memories a little tighter because it doesnt feel like that 7th is coming any time soon. Im here for the rebuild under a new, more modern front office. Hope there is a growing fanbase that is too..

trent jrs a shooting guard. they already have reaves and christie who are both better than trent jr. he averages 16 points 3 rebounds and 2 assists per 36 minutes in his career. those are average numbers. and hes a poor defender
I’m not surprised they have problem attracting free agents. You hired a podcaster to be head coach over guys like Sam cassell who has experience coaching, was much better nba player, and won nba chips.

Cassell had been top assistant coach for many years under great coaches and most recently won a chip with celtics as assistant coach. He’s put in the time to understudy as compared to someone who just talks about it on tv and never actually lead a team

Trent went to the Bucks because of Dame, but beyond that no one wants to be part of LeBron's circus. Klay didn't come despite the phone call from LeBron. We're lucky and I'm grateful for the Bubble Title, but I felt he'd dismantle the Baby Lakers so I never wanted him to sign with the team in the first place.
ESPN, NBA, and Klutch threatened J. Brown. If it's going to take years for Bronny to "Develop" why is he taking up a full time roster spot right now with a guaranteed 4 year contract?
You can’t miss out on somebody you didn’t pursue. I don’t know how many guards people want this team to carry but we already have 5 that do the exact same things as GTJ and some are better.
The trade deadline will probably be the best means to improve the roster teams are going to be willing to negotiate fairly. The Lakers are still a playoff team so it's not all that bad. 47-49 wins is tough to do in a very competitive Western Conference and they manage to win 47 games last season. They got better just by making coaching changes. The ceiling is still there for this team this season to make a move just not now.
Should have never drafted him. It's not🎉😢 the kid fault that pappa bear wanted his son but he was not ready and should have stayed in school maybe 1 or 2 more years.
Bottomline, he needed another year in college, his freshman season was basically a washout with the heart problem. His father should have pushed him for another full year, but that wasn't going to happen. It's Bronny that suffers

Bronny was never going to be a rotation player as a rookie bc he’s never going to be a rotation player at all. He doesn’t have the talent to develop into a rotation player. This isn’t me hating on Bronny or hoping he fails. This is just brutal honesty.
Trevor's bias for LeBron is such a turn off, and sometimes, just straight up disgusting. J Brown NEVER walked back his statement about Bronny. If anything, he essentially doubled down, basically saying Bronny is not a "real NBA player." Soooooooo lame.
State taxes in C.A are what 12% ? The name Lakers doesn’t carry much weight with these players . The minimum is more in Wisconsin . Trent has a chance at winning there .
I don't think I'll be watching too many Laker games this coming season. I just think that watching the ineptitude of the front office come to fruition may put too much of a strain on this older man's heart. Just depressing. Good luck, folks.

I've been a Laker fan my entire 50+ years on this Earth. I've seen the good and bad years from 1980 to 2024. We've been so close in recent years to become another dynasty. Yet, the front office dropped the ball, and that ball appears to be rolling downhill at an increasingly rapid pace. Call me fatalistic if you wish. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not expecting to be. Went to my first NBA Summer League. Only saw two games. Blazers/76ers and Lakers/Celtics. A Monday, so wasn't expecting it to be packed for earlier games. Arena was completely full just prior to Lakers game, as opposed to a little more than half full for Blazers/76ers. That Blazers/76ers was a far better game. Bronny was the clear fan favorite. He got much louder cheers despite there being better more highlight reel level plays not just in this game, but the previous
I like austin reaves man. But him being on the team, and as a starter, is what holding back lakers from making trades. TEAMS WANT HIM, PLAYERS WANT TO REPLACE HIM IN THE STARTING LINEUP. we are stucked with this roster. face it. just hoping they'll be healthy.
Optimistic view: Lakers essentially added Vando, Christie, Knecht and a healthy Gabe while only losing Spencer and Taurean. We are also replacing a useless coach in Ham with someone who (hopefully) actually knows what he's doing. Nuggets got worse and they were the only team we (or at least I) were truly scared of in the west. If we play them now, I like our chances bc KCP was huge for them. I'd even argue if we had a better coach last year we wouldn't have blown all those leads against Denver. Yes Thunder and Mavs got better, but lakers did as well. Maybe make a trade for Kessler, but run it back

You can't blame Rob for not getting Gary Trent Jr when you have 15 signed locked in players under contract. You guys have a starting shooting guard Gary Trent Jr wants a chance to actually start and get major minutes Milwaukee gives him that chance.
