Pat Riley only had one year of assistance before he became a HC. Any critics of his said the samething. “This announcer thinks he can just come after one year and be ready to coach a professional sports team” you won’t ever know unless you are willing to take the risk.

There is NO WAY you can justify hiring JJ (as a coach with no experience) over Rondo! Rondo has multiple rings (one with Lakers) and everyone who’s played with him has noted his overall and basketball I.Q. T. Lue seems to have done great with Westbrook (so is than Bron or the Coaches fault?)

JJ Redick is a 15-year NBA Vet who has been around basketball his entire life. That combined with the fact that there have been success stories of NBA Coaches who never were assistants or never had the “prerequisite experience” shows that JJ sitting on someone’s bench for 3 years won’t make him any more prepared for this job than he is now. This isn’t some broadcaster we’re throwing into this role for the first time, JJ has got what it takes!

Redick/ Sam Cassell are the coaches of the Lakers, they are more knowledgeable of the game than any of the current candidates that have been considered. They are your coach that will take the team far into the future as well as a minimal contract initially. They will manage the locker room along with input from veterans LeBron and AD; they are players coachs and understands the needs of there coaching staff. We need two real bigs, Valanciunas/Drumond/Dwight ( ie 2020 chip) along side AD, we need a six man, Dramond/Bobby Portes etc. We need a two way guard to manage Jamall Murry and Anthony Edwards.... Demar/Donavan/Caruso/Keli Ubrea/Marcus Smart/JaMonte Murray/Brogden/Bones Hyland . We have the assets, the picks and the money to make this happen. Doc Rivers, Ty Lou, , Chauncey Billups had no direct coaching experience other than one of many assistants.

Pat Riley was great, but he also had a once in a lifetime team. Magic, Kareem, Cooper, Worthy, AC Green, Scott.. that was a great team. His coaching took them to the finish line multiple times. Unless this is a hire for the future and trusting in JJ to turn the Lake Show into a potential winner year in and year out, not worth it. Bron is over the hill. AD was great but is playing at a high level for who knows how long.. Trade AD to OKC, while his value is somewhat high for some draft picks. Sign and trade Bron and start over.

Jason Kidds first year coaching the Bucks in 2014 they ended the season with a 41-41 record year before they were 15-67. So it’s possible, people are so fixed on it being JJ, go look at history, googles free and easy. He’s not the first player to do it, I actually think players with high IQs who’ve played the game could work at a high level.

Lebron king James IQ is so high than most of the coaches . Darvin Ham had two year to figure out Nuggets and this year when the lakers were up the first and second quarter; he couldn’t sustain the lead . He couldn’t make the adjustments like most coaches would. In one game while Lakers had a good lead ; Darvin replaced Dewindey and Lebron questioned that . Stop putting the blame on Lebron.

The similarities are way closer than that. JJ was coached by Coach K in college. Riles had Coach Rupp. Riles getting the job as a two year assistant was absolutely unheard of with that kind of experience. Especially replacing a coach who won a ring the year before. The landscape of the NBA is much different now. There are waaaay more coaches that are ex-players in today’s game. JJ is a sharp XO’s guy. I think he’d be an intriguing hire. I also don’t think there is a slam dunk hire out there outside of Ty Lue for obvious reasons.

wow....this world is becoming more black pilled....picking a coach based upon his looks....not his body of work?? ...the more attractive you are ..the more your life is on easy street...so many assistants in the nba that would love a head coaching oppourtunity and here we are talking about somebody getting a job based upon his "looks?" without ever coaching?
