Hey Jamal! could you react to"La de da de da de da de day oh" by bill Wurtz? He's quite young (32) and makes some pretty abstract music. he 3d animates his songs as well to tell the story better which means each RU-vid video he posts takes months to make (his main platform is RU-vid). very distinctive genre he is :) he does literally everything in the video, every instrument and every animation and I think you'd find him a wonderful discovery. have a blessed day 💕
I was around that age and was the DJ at Grand Arena in South San Francisco. I/we played funk and rap and this is why my musical taste is so diverse today. Zapp, Tom Browne, Cameo, Curtis Blow, 🎵"Sugarhill Sugarhill"🎵, Grandmaster Flash, Kano, Funkadelic, etc. I'm a white dude that loves Slayer and hardcore 80's punk but I also love me some funk!
"What in the Pirates of the Caribbean is going on here!?" This killed me!!! lol Brother, I love your videos and your commentary/jokes make my day! Keep up the good work and God Bless!
I'm 56 years old that dang song was/is my Jam when I was in my teens still love it and still jam to it till today and sing every word I like the audio version cuz it's a little longer LOVE IT THANKS FOR THAT ✌️❤️💯
In the late 70s when I was playing lots of softball my team would ride together and our coach believed we played better if we were listening to music and the song we played when we arrived at tournament was Fantastic Voyage. Those were the days.
On our departure from Bishop McNamara to play in the D.C. city championship we jammed a boombox with ROCK N ROLL HOOCHIE KOO by Rick Derringer. Try it and be equally amazed. We won at RFK Stadium.
How many times are we gonna say to anybody’s reaction that the 70s was probably the greatest decade for all kinds of music, hands down! I mean pop rock jazz R&B, great groups great solo artist great entertainment
What the pirates of the Caribbean we got here - I'm dead! 🤣🤣🤣 YAAS Get down with ya bad self darlin!! Just let your feet take ya where they want to go.
I actually had this record! This version is too short, there's a rap that they do that's necessary to hear! In reference to the bass, this song actually has two bass instruments playing! One a bass guitar, the other is a synthesizer. Listen close and you'll see how they interplay to make such a funky groove!
JAMEL Have you heard of FLASH LIGHT BY PARLIMENT ? It Released in 1977 or even better yet TRY THE BAND Brick their song Dazz I DARE you to react to this FUNK ASS SONG FROM 197 ,WAY TO MUCH FUNK FOR YOUR YOUR EARS Lots of EARRGASMS , This was a Smash hit for the 70s ,, I Hope you react to it , Take care Jamel TRY THE LONG VERSION PLEASE FROM 1976
I am not sure when to slip in request, so here it goes. 7/17 or this pass Saturday Robby Steinhardt passed away. He was the violinist for Kansas, so my request to you is "Aperçu" off of their first album. Thanks.
This song always takes me back to my senior year in high school - I graduated in 1982 and this song came out at the end of 1981. And our senior class trip was a cruise to the Bahamas so this sort of became our class song. Great memories!
Classic song right here, we partied/roller skated to this jam 14yrs before Coolio did his version. Got to see Lakeside live in the early 80's with The Whispers, Shalamar & Dynasty. It was a great show. When i saw Lakeside they were in cowboy gear promoting the Rough riders lp. This was my 2nd r&b/ funk concert. My 1st was The Gap Band & Con-Funk-Shun. When The Gap Band had the hit - Oops up side your head & Con-Funk-Shun had the hit - Chase me it was also a great show. If you need to dance to more Lakeside check out Raid & Turn the music up. We also skated to there song too back then. enjoy
EPIC! 🎶💥💃👏😊❤️🇺🇸 Dancin holes in your soles. Funky or what?! Thank you so much for keeping great music alive. Funkadelic is bad too. Ohio Players. So many great bands.
This is one of my favorite songs. I love it when you get up and dance. I always find myself up and dancing too. Its contagious. Your channel always brings a smile. Have a great day!
These guys were from Dayton where I went to college, we saw them quite a bit. Also, Bootsy Collins, Midnight Star and Klymaxx...all these groups always seems to be around..
One of my all time favorite feel-good dance songs! I heard this on the radio when I was in my dorm room in college in 1981, and as soon as it ended, I walked directly to the record store and bought this cassette tape album (I had a boom box...lol). Loved the song ever since. And btw, the video cut out about a minute early...there was more to the song than what we just saw.
OMG❗️ I’m still listening to Lakeside Ta-day! FAN EFFEN TASTIC ! Also, by Lakside is; Your Love is on the one! & Its all the Way Live, Bangers 🔨 that take me back to when we were grooving in the I. E.
I remember being a wee lad and my sister and I heard my mom playing this song and we couldn't stop ourselves from dancing. All 3 of us. This song holds so many pleasant memories. R.I.P., momma....hope your voyage is fantastic.
Thank you! I was so in to funk in the 70’s and 80’s. This brings back so many great memories. My friends were in to rock and I was the funky one. Went to Earth Wind and Fire in Seattle, 1977 by myself, white girl, 18, I had the time of my life! One of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Me again, try Slave: “Watching You” just one ☝🏼 of many Fire 🔥 hits from Slave circa: 70’s well into the 1980’s. I was with your Mom jamming to this, Grown Folks Music 🎶 Lol 😉❣️
If you want to keep the funk going, check out Slide by Slave and Strawberry Letter 23 by Brothers Johnson. 👍 And of course you gotta throw down some Parliament Flashlight! The Bar-kays are another great funk band of that era.
Jamel you would have loved being a teenager back in the seventies we had so many beautiful song and music Jamel you would loved being in the seventies you really rock 🎸 you can still take this beautiful music to any disco club's and people will get up and dance the night away ❤ 😀 💃💃💃💃💃💃🤘🤘🤘🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼
Lakeside is one of those great 1970's R&B/Funk bands that defined the era! There were many great bands like this, such as, Cameo, The Barkays, Kool and the Gang, Earth Wind and Fire, The Commodores, and Parliment/Funkadelic! These bands had amazing musicians and great vocals and let's not forget the amazing costumes! LOL! My older sisters had all the albums from these bands the music would fill the house when our parents weren't home! LOL! This brings back so many great memories from my childhood! Coolio did a remake, of sorts, of this song but nothing compares to the original!💖💖
I believe Lakeside is from Dayton Ohio the home of Funk Music. Ohio Players are from Dayton Ohio. Roger Trautman I think that's his you spell it is from Dayton. Bootsie Collins is from Cincinnati and still down there played with George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelics. The song Atomic Dog!! Love the Funk
Dam I missed this the other day...I was bad sick😞....You know its dam good when Jamal is outta the dam chair....💃 💃 💃 💃 💃 oh hell yes its on!!!!! Brother Jamal 💃 💃 💃 💃
If you haven't reacted to Lakeside's "Outrageous" I'd recommend getting on that one. Instead of Pirates of the Caribbean, it's Raiders of the Lost Ark.
I remember being in the club in the early ‘80s hearing that song for the first time. It stopped me in me tracks, I had to grab a girl and hit the dance floor!
