Joel Osteen, leader of Lakewood Church where a person opened fire on Sunday, is one of the most familiar faces in American religion. He preaches to about 45,000 people a week, is nicknamed the smiling preacher, and is known for his positive preaching style. #news #joelosteen

I may not agree with how Joel Osteen runs his church but I am absolutely praying for all of those who were injured and traumatized by the event. Given the size of his congregation, I can only imagine the chaos of trying to evacuate during such a complex situation, and I want to also give thanks to the brave officers who stopped that woman from hurting more people.
