If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. God's blessing upon your people.
It's so beautiful. I love it. I don't know too much about Native American People, but I feel sad that such proud and pure hearts people don't have his own free land. Don't have any more... Propagate beautiful culture of your forefathers. Wish you all the best.
I am native american of the lakota people i know that the natives are dying out and there is very little that can stop that but as long as the teaching, legends and the language never die then neither will the people that created them.
Cante waste hoksila, ake estima. Hanhepi kin waste. We hi yo hi ye. (Good hearted boy, go to sleep. The night is good.) Ya hiye yo hiye, we ey heyo hiye.... Ya hiye ey yo hiye yo we ey heyo hiye
This is how the Bible defines love, "If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

I have a vision of the ones who have died that I know of on the Reservation (where I am from). They were true warriors who were born in the wrong era. This song brings a tear in my eye.
This is hauntingly beautiful. Thank you kindly tank8998 for posting this and sharing your people's lullaby with the rest of the world. Lullabies are much, much more important than they get credit for! They humanize us and consequently humanize the world. Can anyone provide the lyrics translation (English). Blessings, K x

this song reminds me of me great grandma telling me stories about are native ancestor Crazy Horse, so tall and mighty they had to cut him in half when he died so he could fit his coffin.
I am Indigenous from down South and I believe that indigenous unity ranging to the cold weather of Alaska to the mountain of Chile! I was wondering how can i learn this song?
This is so beautiful. I really hope to learn a native American language someday. Hopefully the language spoken by Chippewa's because I have some Chippewa in me
all respect to first nations the atrocaties that were invoked on you and your Your Generations will ring deep in the hearts of any white man that has acountability for his forefathers and the guilt they invoked and i as a simple man say Sorry i have shed many a tear for lost generations and know the hole in my heart myself at the grief of search and joy of finding my blood kin Regards Bullfrog
@123skyrod The Lakota are a nation of Native American people from the midwestern United States. The word Lakota means "ally" in the Lakota language, and it is used to describe the bond between the seven tribes or Oceti Sakowin ("Seven Fires") that made up the Lakota people: the Oglala; Sicangu; Hunkpapa; Mniconju; Oohenunpa; Itazipacola; and the Sihasapa. Today, some Lakota believe in the Christian conception of God, but traditional Lakota believe in the Great Spirit that binds all things.
hey bro thanks for the comment and the song is called Nwalhulwana but it is not native american it is from an african singer which is still pretty cool and thanks bro for the comment
Were have all the people gone? Is it only color that remains? Is there a common tie that binds all humans? The answer is yes! Can a white have the same feelings as an Indian or an African American yes! We dwell so much on our differences and not enough? goodness
sababa I am lachotah. from eagle butte south dakota. you are close but a little off there. We say "iyokipi" for happy. When it is sung cante waste hokshila it means 'good hearted boy' not 'happy boy' Our language is very confusing.
Do you know where i can find the full version of this song?and in addition,I have Cherokee blood in my veins and im proud to be a part of the Native American heritage.Cherokee Pride!!! :) {I know this is a Lakota tribe song but still Indian...lol}
it was written a few comments down by LeonMMA: Lakota: cante washte hoksida ake istimba, hanhepi kin waste. English: Good hearted boy go back to sleep, the night is good.
