Lol that father son moment is so freaking cool... NEVER fails to make me cry... Despite being Farhan's *second* movie... This movie was way ahead of it's time and the title track is probably my most played song

The father son moment is my favourite scene in the whole movie it makes me cry too 🥺.. but his first movie isn't Lakshya (2004) .. it was the cult hit Dil Chahta hai that released in 2001

Indian Army is an expert in High Mountain Warfare. Just recently US Soldiers came in India to learn how to combat in less oxygen environment.

True. Indian Forces are considered well versed in mountain and jungle warfare, since other countries dont get to experience it often they receive training in India. On the other hand urban warfare is weak point for Indian forces since there arent many occasions thats why post mumbai attack lot of exercises are held in urban semi urban settings.

My favorite part is in the small details, like that soldier falling after tripping over a rock. A lot of action scenes disregard the mundane things that can work against you in a fight

I have watched this film many many times. And each time I wonder, how the bloody hell did Farhan Akhtar manage to make such a good film, at such a young age with barely any experience. I think even he doesn't know how he managed to do it.

The character Romila Dutta is based on a real life journalist Barkha Dutta who was present on ground Zero during the Kargil War. However, her journalism wasn't very responsible because her live coverage and reporting on National TV was often giving away key information to enemies across the border.

Just a little correction.. In India, temperature is measured in Celsius , not Fahrenheit.. so the temperature goes down to -40°C to -50°C in Kargil & Drass area during winters in J&K where this conflict happened.. we were not that much technologically advanced at that time , but it's the courage of Indian defence forces that we fought Pakistani army intruders and defended our territories & captured back our forward posts.. since 1999, Indian army does not vacate its posts no matter how low temperature gets because our enemy took advantage of our trust.. A big salute to all the soldiers who fought for us during these tough times 🙏 the whole country is forever indebted for their sacrifices 🇮🇳

It's one of the best movie of Hrithik or I say Hitrik and the best movie directed by Farhaan akhtar. The way story moves, Preeti Zinta's character is so beautifully written and another character I love was Boman Irani. He is strict but also loves his son although he was angry of his son to join Indian army but more than anger there is concern for his life. Other supporting characters are too good, definitely best movie 🥰🥰❤️❤️.

Not Fahrenheit but Celsius. -50C=(-50*9/5)+32=-90+32=-58F. -40C=-40F though. C=F(5/9)-32 or F=C(9/5)+32. That's why.
