Thank you Lalah for having the humility and self assuredness to allow Toni Scruggs to showcase her extraordinary voice in what was your stage. Beautiful character and amazing talent you are!
Like others have mentioned, Lalah clearly has her own gifts intact and allows another sanger to display her extraordinary gift with such grace and character. The universe has blessed us with both.
Why are Toni's vocals sooooo sick?! JESUS! That is truly God's gift! I think I would have wet myself if I had been there in person to hear her sing like that.
man that chick can blow...every note was precise..been watching her for some years..does she have a album yet?lelah had to cut her off she had not even got started..so cool to have been there...
OMG Son!!! Toni Scruggs Is A Beast!!! For reals, I know Lah's a professional and all, but my god, I could not have went and sung behind what Toni had done. I woulda told everyone "Ladies And Gentlemen Thats The Show, Thank Ya'll For Coming Good Night" LOL. I LOVE IT!! This is what Singing is about. Not this new millennium Auto-Tuned bulls**t. I mean its aight for entertainment, but I want something like this that moves me, astounds me and makes me wanna perfect my vocals.
Lalah is a professional... She has her style and genre she sticks too... her scales and runs that she does are "signature". She won't survive in this game unless she surrounds herself around people who are as good or better than her. What's makes her a stellar professional is allowing them to showcase their talents. Yes, Toni is bad... Whew but at the end of the day, she's there for Lalah! Werd....
The problem isn't the industry. The issue is great voices with sub-par material, promoted as something they are not and unleashed into minor clubs. A record deal isn't the goal. The goal is to be heard and to build-up that audience, so that when they come knocking, you can demand, instead of simply being grateful for a contract that isn't worth squat.
BTW, I said "not cooking as good" rather than "well" for your benefit. Given the limited understanding of grammar rules you've displayed, I didn't want to confuse by using "as well" and have you potentially thinking I was saying she didn't cook, rather than merely not cooking at the same level. Just an addendum...
Alyssa Swann - I’ve had learned that not of that means anything at times. Maybe AMAZING backup singers went solo and it just didn’t work out. Lisa Fisher being an example. But TJ should DEFINITELY be a TEACHER of sorts. That ish was PERFECTION.
It takes a lot of ego to pursue a solo career. You have to be willing to go the extra length to put yourself out there (be an opportunist) and some people just dont have it in them. This is why we will never hear some of the greatest talents and gifts in this world because maybe they just lack confidence or they're just far too humble.
@@1o2oCHECKA and you, my dear, have the right of with regard to Toni. She doesn't really want it like that. She's seen it from the background and knows the industry well.
No, YOU just said I didn't understand metaphors. I'm a former professional freelance writer for music & entertainment magazines. I understand metaphors quite well. 1st off, he didn't use a metaphor. He used plain old hyperbole. 2nd, it didn't make sense. "Tastes so good you'll wanna slap yo mamma" makes sense because the food is so good, you're angry at her for not cooking as good, but punching someone for being a great musician doesn't. He was confused & used the wrong idiomatic expression.
Seriously!!! But you know how it is -- if you're not willing to take off your clothes then you won't make it too far in the music biz. Just think of all of the "singers" who are major, mega stars: Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Miley Cirus, Katy Perry, Ciara, Jennifer Lopez... I can go on and on. None of these women can sing, they have pleasant voices, but none can really sing.
