Knowing God, and meditating on who He is, that He is the Almighty, Creator God, who loves His children with an unconditional love, and confident that He always has our best interests at heart - even though He will allow us to go through difficult circumstances that we might get to know Him better - His love and faithfulness make it possible for us to praise Him in every circumstance.
God is definitely faithful. However to be clear, no where in the Bible does it say his love is "unconditional". There are conditions. I say this also because it is so easy to take a few verses in the Bible and go with it without reading the rest of the Bible. It is so easy to read for instance John 3:16 and say I am saved because of this so I can continue living my life of sin and not repent. God clearly warns us to continue to repent daily and live "Holy" NOT "legalistic" lives. Yes by faith we are saved but also if we remember how many times in the Old testament God punished and killed his people for disobedience, we see how His love is "not unconditional" despite how faithful and extremely patient He was with His people. If His love was really unconditional why would we see God in the book of Matthew constantly warn us about following his commandments and walking through the narrow gate. God also warns us throughout the book of Revelations chapter 3 when he addresses the 7 churches. Only 2 of the 7 churches were following His ways. True transformation through Christ happens from the inside out. Are we willing to daily die to our selfish desires and will and be kingdom focused or do we live according to the ways of the world? Mark 8:34-38. So yes, John 3:16 and Romans 10:9 are just the beginning or initiation of our faith/salvation through God. However, we are to continue to be transformed daily and live Holy lives until His return.
@@johnliu2425 Wholesome understanding of God's nature..However, I believe Steve meant God loves all (saints & sinners, alike) when he said God's love is unconditional. It does not mean we all go to heaven, though. Remember, the rich young ruler, who couldn't obey Jesus's commandment to give all that he had to the poor? His riches was a trap & he didn't end up in heaven, right? But the Bible say Jesus LOVED him...The essence of God is love..
