I get why the veteran don’t want to go otas. Even with the best coaches, people want more control over the improvement they get in the off season. They don’t want to be in a structure where they have to slow things down for rookies and other people. Let the coaches get the new people up to speed then come in and take over once the new people have an understanding of the offense.
@markislivingdeliberately
@markislivingdeliberately 2 года назад
First, Lamar isn’t a veteran. So doesn’t apply. Second I agree if it’s like a left tackle or an edge rusher or a running back who is a veteran. But when you’re the leader of a team you’re the first one there day one you’re the last one to leave at the end of the season and you lead by example by modeling good behavior by teaching it and by preaching it. Saying ‘it’s not voluntary so I don’t have to be there” is not really what a leader should do. If I were a rookie and when I got in I saw Lamar always breaking a sweat I’d follow him. If I show up and he said “hey rook, you’re not important enough for me to be there see you in 4 weeks” I’d think “okay, dudes not the dude but he’s got talent.”

I'm a Bills fan, and had Josh Allen decided to forgo OTA's I'm pretty sure it would be a non story among the Media and Fans! It makes sense for him to be there this particular season albeit we have a new OC but other than that, no one would bat an eye if 17 was training on his own!

Lamar is still a work in progress, to say the least, when it comes to being a pure passer in the NFL. That’s the reason this is suspect, and he lost his main wideout this off-season, even if the TE is his true #1.
@danielbeasley1495
@danielbeasley1495 2 года назад
its crazy yall call him a work in progress. he completes 63% of his passes and only throws it 20 times a game. the system hes in doesnt allow him to showcase his arm talent, but when he has to prove he can throw he does it 9/10.

it's funny when he says the way they're walking the routes all I can do is picture the way these guys do that trend where they have a wide receiver and defensive back that they only can walk and they try to get open while only walking it's pretty cool it's kind of funny when you see somebody that's really good at it they can juke somebody out while walking and never getting in a hurry lol
