Ok so it really is the drummer that's throwing things off. Saw them in Raleigh and a massive crowd of people were SAT DOWN in their seats, just looking at their phones. Every transition was sloppy and I guess it just comes down to the drummer not being as disciplined as Chris. People came out to ROCK OUT and these sloppy undisciplined noodling through these passages is a sin. There's literally no pauses at all like there are on the albums or earlier live shows; it just sounds like a sloppy bar band cover of the original band now.
100%. He’s the main reason they’ve lost their edge. He has absolutely no chops compared to Chris and is clearly incapable of playing any of their old material consistently. He’s the reason their new album is so boring - he simply cannot match the technicality, consistency and flair that Chris brought to the band.
This was my third time seeing them with Art. They sounded great when I was there but he don't sound good in this video. He's never been off like this any of the other times I've seen them...or maybe I just didn't notice.
