Descending was the third song I ABSOLUTELY fell in love with on this album behind Blacken the Cursed Sun, Beating on Deaths Door and then Descending.

Definetly one of the best tracks. This was their peak album too, imo.

The whole section is pretty hilarious or sad. Mark had a good song - everyone else was like hmmm. It became such a killer tune.

I got detention at my Lutheran high school for screaming Lamb of God in my best Randy impression during afternoon announcements our school was playing a lamb of god Christian school 🤣😂

My mom was pretty religious and actually had a CD of a christian band called lamb of god, what a disappointment that album was lol

It's rather weird how Chris hates it. It's my second favourite from the album.

Facts. I loved that guys energy and you could see that it's his passion. There's a lot of good producers out there but there's a difference between being good at your job and being good/absolutely loving every second of your job.

Studio is always hard work, but its good to hear how people understand eachother and work with eachother. That's the difference between the little bois and the big bois. That's why when your honest and truthful with yourself it makes for great music...

I've recorded drums for multiple albums and EPs and yeah... it can definitely be tough getting everything done. Especially if you're paying out of pocket and don't have days and days of studio time to get everything super perfect. It's just nonstop take after take for hours and hours at a time. No time to rest, take a break, or really take in the whole process. It's still always worth it in the end, but it is definitely a grind. Luckily, modern technology has made it much easier to record yourself. I hate to admit it, but I program my drums these days because I can write and re-write until it's as good as it can be and the drum samples now sound every bit as good as a live recording and I can do it myself without spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on studio time. I can't lie, I don't miss the stress of the studio. So long as you can play what you program, it's all good.

Yeah it was a good era of metal, I was 16-17 at the time fully wowed out by all these bands. Now it's all just boring djent.

I'm still addicted to both of them...I feel like I can't play music without them... sometimes I wish I could stop but then I realize I can't stop some people will never be able to quit and I feel like I am one of those people

Not to mention all the other projects he’s done. He drummed on Protest the Hero’s album a few years ago and man.... that was no easy feat for sure. Super cool to hear him really be able to shine through on a technical album like that

It’s crazy now because I’m a college student and I see a lot of people with metal band t shirts and stuff. Culture has definitely changed from early 2000’s-10’s to now

@@numtoe5861 shoulder surgery I think, but it was that and he was getting tired of playing the same songs all the time. kinda get the vibe that he was a lot more focused on constantly improving the music but the others were just kinda playing the popular tunes and making more mainstream style music

It is crazy to see how laser focused Chris was during this time, then to see him bow out, or back out, or quit, what have you. I think the motorcycle accident put some things into perspective, change his priorities, and just saw LOG as too much a machine and not fun. People think being a rockstar is fun and games but it’s a difficult way of life. Grueling touring schedules, sacrificing a normal family life, a normal social life, etc. I remember Corey Taylor one time said something along the lines of “people think I get paid to be on stage. I would do that for free. I’m paid the 22 hours of the day that I am not on stage”.

I keep wondering how Chris can go from LOG where the drum line is foremost to a band where the drums are hidden behind the vocals and guitar. Chris was the band. I still love LOG but I worry for them.

Chris joined the band because his friended needed a drummer and he thought he could fill that spot so he went from never playing drums to recording his first album a year later. Drumming was his entire heart and soul.

Seems he was producing his favorite bands upcoming record. He was all in from the start lol, and having a blast doing it. It must be nice doing something you absolutely love and get paid to do it.

Agreed. Descending changed my views on this band. Prior I had them boxed into a very straight forward speed metal box. Descending is the song that bridges their old to their new

Woww thats great ! that 2007 show is probably is the best of their history. I saw them this year here in my country Colombia the blew my mind. Randy presence is brutal. I wish i could saw them with Chris.

He always was the more "metal" in the band. So yes, is very weird when he say that in the explanation on why he leave/was fire from the band
