like i said case closed, i don't care about a trademark or any thing of that nature, I just know what i see, but moving right along good job DST, good job, keep up the good work.
Maybe you've never heard it, but I've done it. I've been a Delta for 14 years and I've often done and heard the chant "D-E-L-T-A, S-I-G-M-A, T-H-E-T-A, Delta Sigma Theta." I never said it was a big deal, just that someone kept saying something about Deltas "stealing" from AKAs, so when I heard that chant, the first thing I thought about was the DST chant
Yes goodnight to you, too. I have school in the morning. We Pretty Girls Incorporated must get our rest as well. As for my founders--everyone is entitled to make a mistake. I'm just glad they corrected theirs. :-) It is all love. Take care.
Yes I am, i have no problem with the deltas at all, Im friends with loads of them, yes thats the movement I was talking about, from my understanding, the AKA from UA started doing that first, and then the deltas started to stroll thats way. thats all i was saying. I'm glad you checked out the performace, wasnt it to cute, I loved it. I know you did too(jokeing)
I have been a Delta for over twenty years and we have always spelled our name out. Sorors were spelling out our name in chants well before I became a Delta. So this chapter did not copy anything from the AKAs.

Umm...yes, I got that the name of the chapter is Theta Sigma. I mentioned that they spelled out their chapter name. I knew that, but my point was that their spelling of the chapter name was done like the Delta chant I mentioned.
Yes I know a lot about Greeks with similar names. Lets us not forget about the Alpha Kappa Alpha Fraternity founded 1902 or 1906. See the thread on plegdge park that even has pictues of the aka fraternity.
This was a nice show...o comment on the craziness in threads, beensolong ten is definitely not an AKA. You can see that by the profile. As far as the chant with the AKAs spelling their chapter name, i believe AKAs have been spelling ALPHA KAPPA ALHPA for the longest so for them to spell their chapter name is not a big deal. On the other hand i have never heard a Delta spell out DST
Ok my first comment: I wear Lambda Zeta is always gettin' it and gettin' it done right!! Secondly, Angelbabie 5506 sweetie do your research because your last comment was oh so incorrect.
lastly i would suggest that you look up the theta sigma chapter of AKA on here, AKA's from UA, again I said UA, and you will see that their strolls are really pretty, Not to say Delta's can't have pretty strolls, however they normally don't considering they like to Elephant Walk, don't know what Elephant Walking is but i'm sure it's nothing cute about it. Even if the deltas came up with the dip first, the AKA's from UA, again I said UA, looks better doing it.
Also, if you watch different organizations step and/or stroll, you will always see some similarities. That doesn't mean that Deltas stole from AKAs or vice verse. I don't know what "dip" you're talking about, but I'm the AKAs at UA certainly don't have some kind of trademark on a dip.
OK. I just looked at the AKAs from UA since I wanted to be fair and see this dip you were talking about. I'm still really unclear on that because all I saw was maybe some hip dipping as they were walking off stage. Is that what you're talking about? I'll tell you what was very obvious, though--the first chant they did was a DELTA one--"D-E-L-T-A, S-I-G-M-A,T-H-E-T-A, Delta Sigma Theta." They spelled out their chapter name, but the chant is the same as ours. What's up with that? Are you an AKA?
That chapter of DST is so similar to the AKA chapter there, im not sure who was first on campus but its certain that the delta chapter @ UA is copy alot of there AKA stuff, from the stroll with the dipp in it, to thier hand on thier side, it look like they want ot stand in the IVY pose so bad LOL...good job on the show but they movements and everything looks AKAish
There was an AKA Fraternity. You Tube does not allow you to post websites, but if you type w w w . fultonhistory . com and put in alpha kapp alapha in the search section of the website.
I don't know anything about a Elephant Walk. If thats what Delta's call it then, it suits them(smile).I said the show was good, they did a good job for what it was. However in general when the delta's from UA, again i said UA, stroll, it looks very very similar to the AKA stroll, the AKA chapter at UA, again I said UA, has this little dip in the strolls that they do, and the Delta's from UA, again i said UA, does that too, I don't know why they do it, but they do,
Gotta go get my beauty rest, ms.delta, surely u understand how us pretty girls are,(surely you do considering you once were one/well your founders) can't have those bags in the morning, much love and have a blessed nite. note*- I am just jokeing with you sweety, it's all in love. Seriously good talking with you, enjoy ur nite, ms.delta
I guess it was OK. It wasn't very long (thank God because the skee-wees were about to run me crazy!) That dip didn't really look like anything special--people dance that way. I never would have even paid any attention to it and I didn't see the Deltas doing it. I went back and watched again. But whatever...I notice you had no comment about what I said about the chant. You can talk about a small dip or whatever, but that chant is blatantly a Delta one.
The chapter is THETA SIGMA, not DELTA SIGMA THETA, complete difference, and im sure you would agree with me about greeks with the same or similar names and how thats work, example: Delta sigma theta sorority and delta sigma theta pharmacutical fraternity
(1) go to w w w dot fultionhistory dot com (no spaces) (2) enter alpha kappa alpha in the search section of the page and you will see an aka 1906 fraternity. I know about greeks, since I am Delta.
I didn't insult AKAs & I don't even know if you are one or just a wannabe, but the insult to my Sorors wasn't necessary (elephant comment). I don't really care to watch AKAs stepping on here because hearing all that Skee-weeing is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Deltas are about so much more than being "cute." I guess that's a priority for AKA. For my Sorors, there are more important things.
