Well, it's creatively imaginative, I acknowledge that. But it's no great technical feat. As far as I can tell as a layman, the poster shot is a mask over the video footage. The poster frame is basically like a window with a slight surface reflection effect that arguably fades away a bit too early/quickly to maintain the magic.

The intro was perfect! The zooming into the actual bedroom poster and then walking up to the car and the pause just after start up, just breathing in... Ooof that hit me in the feels. The Diablo has a special place in my heart because at the age of eight, I distinctly remember picking up my father's issue of Road and Track, with the Diablo 6.0 VT on the cover in bright orange, and the words "FASTER THAN HELL" That just set off all the little boy fantasies and I've been an sport car nut ever since. The journalist did not drive the car initially, but it was the factory driver who wanted to show the car to the magazine and drove through Sant’Agatha where the journalist followed in the rental car. In the review he mentioned that when Valentino Balboni open the throttle he immediately put the gas on the Mondeo and astonished the fact that Diablo escaped as if he was standing stil. There is something about the design of the car, it looks like a scaled up toy race car that came out of plastic mold, you see this particularly at 7:33. I think this is why I loved it so much as a kid growing up. I recently found in my parent's house an old postcard of a Diablo SV it was one of those exclusive offers you could send off with a cheque and get a A2 sized poster. It was only £1.50 not sure why I never ordered the poster and kept the postcard instead, I suspect I didn't read any of the text on the back and just stared at the car 🙂 Also is that Flat Eric!?!

That was one of the most beautifully nostalgic, evocative showcases of a yesteryear supercar I've ever seen - congratulations to whoever directed that, with the transition from aspirational wallposter to video of Henry walking towards the driver-side door. Amazing, you had me captured and reliving my youth from the first seconds of the video. Y'know, I think these yesteryear supercars and sportscars are more relevant in 2021 than they've ever been. Deteriorating road surfaces, reduced speed limits and punitive policing of our public highways means that involvement, spectacle, theatre and usability have never been more important. And yet we see increasingly ludicrous power outputs, computer assistance, digitized gearboxes and insane performance figures coming from brand new hyper-cars - none of which can responsibly be used on the public highway any more. These legends from the 90's are destined for legendary status, even more so than they've already achieved. Thank you Mr. Catchpole, for taking us on your journey.

And this is why Carfection - they put you in the car. Sometimes I think that modern cars are too clever for their own good. Faster; certainly, dynamically superior; undoubtedly but more fun? debatable. That close-up of Henry's eyes behind the glasses and you just know he is smiling. ...

Hands down the best show about cars on RU-vid. It is not just the cars, everything from the editing and quality of the picture, the “cinematography”, the music and writing but more importantly the pitch, accent and tone of your voice. Others may be downloading meditation apps, I watch Carfection, what a succinct name... ...it is therapeutic and meditative.

Im in love with diablos, this was the most enjoyable review of a diablo ive seen.. he didn't overload us with specs, just drove it with pure joy, and the camera work was great! A fantastic clean example of an SV too. Well done

One of my favourite car videos ever and I don't say that lightly. Henry, you and your team have knocked this one out of the park! The Diablo was my poster car as a kid and sparked a passion inside me that continues to this day. The SE30 was the one on my wall, but the SV is special and iconic in it's own right. The way you intro that piece is pure genius, the retro feel of our childhoods, the lava lamp, the cassette, the poster! The transition was inspired and I got goosebumps watching it! Thank you for your content, your passion and please keep them coming!

That poster edit was absolutely immense. You won’t catch Henry binning it on a slight “oily” bend at 40mph 😜 loved that car in the very first Need for Speed Hot Pursuit back in the day.

This has got to be one of the best car reviews I have ever watched on RU-vid. Carfection, a Diablo SV in the original "tatooed" spec yellow with Henry Catchpole at the wheel... Absolutely brilliant 👏🏽 And that transition from picture to video at the beginning was perfect ! Good job to the Carfection team !
