I'll try to translate most of what's going on in the video since I'm very far in my Japanese. This volume focuses on the GT-R's toughest rival, the Gallardo. In past volumes the Gallardo has consistently beaten the GT-R. The GT-R lost it's debut battle against the Gallardo Superleggera, then lost again to the new Gallardo on the F430 Scuderia Debut Battle at Motegi with the GT-R's speed limiter malfunctioning, Then the Shadow GT-R with Muffler tuning and Nismo Suspension fell victim to engine & transmission overheating with the Gallardo winning once again. Today's battle features a 2010 model of the GT-R which received some minor changes from it's debut model in 2007. The LP560-4 Gallardo returns for battle. First time appearance is the LP550-2 Gallardo Balboni, which is 10 HP less and RWD but has a lighter body. Ara makes a special appearance bringing in his personally owned Nissan GT-R to the battle. Ara's GT-R is equipped with a Nismo Tuning package which consists of the Nismo ECU that helps boosts torque and improves shift response, and a Shocks & Springs Kit with an Aluminum Wheel Set. It wears the same Dunlop tires found on the 2010 Nissan GT-R.
You are kidding, right? You don't really know who Keiichi Tsuchiya is, do you? Anyways the point is that Balboni is RWD and although being lighter like the Superlaggera, it was much slower at corner exits because it does not have four wheel traction.
LOL keyboard warrior that never and very likely will never ever get to drive/own a GTR seems to know the most about GTR. Anyway, both of them are bloody awesome.
GT-R is a great machine, but it has one big problem, its speed is all artificial, because electronic systems are turning the car. Every component of the car is at complete limit, under great strain. GT-R could do 4-5 fast laps on this track, then it would start to slow down, tires would overheat due to weight and electronic AWD system (which puts LOTS of strain on tires).... Gallardo's could do consistent lap times until empty fuel tanks. Even Tsuchyia said GT-R is NOT a proper supercar.
@Dboss66 If you think that then my opinion is European Journalists (Only some) favor European cars. To be honest with you. Even if the LP560-4 had more BHP it still wouldn't win against the GT-R, Why? GT-R is AWD and puts every single horsepower on the road of it's given BHP. the LP550-2 is RWD and it was drifting on the corners.. and the GT-R on it's tail ready to take over. It's not about how much BHP it has got. It's about how it puts that Horsepower down on the road and GT-R is far better.
if the gtr is not stock thats alright, because the baby lambo did pretty good aswell, i think its very bias too, its like putting a top end nissan car against the baby lambo. lets try the putting big brother - the successor of the murcielago, aventador!? but good race. (Y)
This track is ment for a car like the GTR it's best shot to beat such high-end super cars like those lambo's would be on this tight small track. Lmabo's would be more in their element on a lil larger track.
@onoitsaWRX Lol, Correct. GT-R's dual clutch transmission is way more superior than the E-Gear. Noticed how the 458 Italia copied it? Well not copied it but they are using it in the 458 and the 458 is the only European supercar to match the GT-R but still the GT-R is the GT-R aka Godzilla. King of the Nurburgring
I knew the Balboni wouldn't do so well in a small track like Tsukuba; that's where AWD shines with late braking and higher corner exit speeds. Plus, let's face it, E-Gear can't be driven harder than the old 6MT. Of course, now some tool will probably say "But E-Gear is faster to 60 mph than 6MT..." LOL
There was no Superleggera out there, only the Balboni and a stock Gallardo. The Superleggera has 570 hp, carbon fiber interior with alcantara not leather like this two from here and a big spoiler with no reverse camera.
@dzoicc its pretty obcius why the gallardo lost. Becouse This this is too small for them to show what they can. The valentino would eat both the gtr on track like monza
The cars not just made for Drag races that why not only how much HORSE POWER does the car have the brakes and everything not only speed things that what made the GTR Best car !
