I am still in tech school; it sucks for me because all of the classes have transitioned online and I am more of a hands-on learner. I am 20 years old I have and invested a decent amount to build my toolbox. I've been called in for a one on one interview with the shop foreman and the dealership gm collectively for a first-year apprentice position at a Mercedes Benz Dealership. They said they wanted someone like me in the shop and that I do qualify for the position but they will call me on if that same position opens up again in the future, because of someone else being appointed. I am literally stepping into the industry and just really nervous about how things will turn out.
I have been a mercedes tech for about a year now i came from a private shop so far its been what i expected its pretty nice it was hard to get in but it was well worth it. Also i am 21 with about 4/5 years Experience. I was doing the same thing searching for answer for questions i had on youtube. I can tell you if you become a mercedes tech you can make alot of money depending on your drive. I know some thats make 35k and i know there is a couple making around 90k and one of the highest paid making well over 150k. But he also has like 15 years of experience. Wish you luck with your schoolin and search for a job i was at your spot once. At the end it all works out

You need to know somebody and have over 10 years listed whether the shops still exist or not. When I got my security clearance I had to list a company that no longer existed. If it was on my tax return and within 10 years I had to list it. You need to get a professional resume writer.
Porsche didn’t close. The dealer group I worked for needed to have less than 500 employees to qualify for government grants. They laid off 350 people and I was one of them

I use to be a supervisor for frys electronics and i went to manager training..along interview candidate training. If you got the Lambo job. Good for you, but they were never going to hire you. I'm sorry to hear that man. I hope Porsche calls u back soon if they haven't done so already, I know this video was months ago. I left the automotive industry back in 2006 for the heavy duty. Make much more money and very thankful. My question is I've never worked outside of the Honda dealership when I was in automotive. If you don't mind me asking what does a decent technician make hourly or yearly at a luxury car dealership such as Porsche, Lamborghini and so on? Thanks
I do feel bad for you for not getting the job. Im right now trying to get a better job at a dealership so I can get better training then what I am getting at pep boys. This week and the week before. I got a interview for Toyota and Chevrolet. Toyota like what I had to say, But didn't have any positions open right now. With chevy. Seem like what I was telling the guy, He didn't seem interested. Im just hoping for one dealership near me to actually hire me.
So I’m currently a ASE master tech and have been working for independent most of it tell i started working for gm. I applied at a Porsche dealership on indeed because hey why not. Well next day I got a text message to set up a time to talk and we set it up for the next day after work. Well now after watching this I wish I had set it up so I could at least shower first and not be a grime ball. Would love to hear your input on this

Well if you have no experience start going for the basics and get into lube tech/tire work it’s gonna be a LONG road, on top of that if you want to get certified you have to go to school for that. I currently just started working for Audi and ngl it’s gonna be tuff battle cuz I have minor experience on top of that I have schooling for Audi themselves since they provide schooling
