Dave shows us what happened to this poor Lambo head after only 9k miles of driving and only 1 track day. Totally stock car! He also shows the differences between the Huracan and the Performante valvetrain!
Your in depth videos were enough to secure my business with Headgames. As a machinist of 20 years I LOVE the fact you are willing to share some of the trade "secrets". I've learned an immense amount about porting and chamber geometry among other things. The fact you're willing to go out of your way to TEACH your target audience is extremely rare in this day and age. While everyone else is worried about the end dollar, you take the time and effort to teach from the heart based on your years of experience. I LOVE the videos! Keep up the great work! And thank you for taking the time to make videos like this. It's very rewarding to watch.
Thanks and yes l would like to see a few different heads finished right ! The first would be an after market aluminum big block chevy head, a boosted head. Second l would like to see a boosted duramax aluminum head and the same only a cast iron head. ✌🏻🤘 🇨🇦 😎.
I Don't think there is any fuel in that runner. Direct injection. Allot has to do with where the valve sits above the runner and maintaining runner wall thickness.
Hey Dave, love your work!! Looking at the port i can’t help think having some channels (1mm wide/1mm deep) cuts into the port (in the right place) would encourage tumble ten-fold. You could steer the charge in whatever direction you like with them. (Channel size..Using a dremel (1” wheel) cut multiple 1mm channels 1mm deep)
Would you be able to do a future video on a Mazda 1.6 mx5 (or miata, euros or however they are called where you are) over here we just call them the mx5 haha Thanks so much Love all your in depth videos, for me definitely the best on YT Regards from Belgium
Dave love your videos very informative. Your knowledge is incredible. My car is old 87GN turbo v6. I'm going to get it back on the road soon. Going to start changing valve springs and injectors. At 70 k what's your opinion on the valve guides. Should that be a concern? Not smoking and not using up oil.
Jose thanks for the kind words! I also have a 87’ T-Type. That’s the first heads I ever did! That head has guides that are apart of the head and rarely have wear issues. You can’t really replace but you can get a machine shop to install a bronze liner (k-liner is what it’s called). But really it’s not something that I would rip it apart for. I went 10’s back in the late 90’s with my heads, 61mm turbo, built trans and a converter. Unfortunately we don’t work on them anymore.
Hello. I can't believe that the port has that Stock termination being direct injection, and that neither will any CFM be gained by smoothing the surface, it has been very curious to me. Thanks for these videos, have you done something with BMW 6 cylinders? Best regards
Do you use a 'special' type of bronze guide with the titanium valve? I know Honda with all their resources had a heck of a time finding something compatible when they started using titanium valves in motorcycles 20+ years ago (plus had a lot of valve issues)
Hello dude, can you please give me a quick clarity about whether performante engine head can go to Audi R8 2011 5.2 v10 ? If yes then what are all the parts has to be changed to fit in ?
I bet you start seeing more and more smaller exhaust valves. I've been preaching it for years to my guys and anyone else that would listen. Yep, you're welcome. Oh....that's Lamborghini calling. Must be about my royalty check. Looks like I'll be getting 3 Makitas and all the Headgames burrs
Im confused I thought you were gonna compare heads to base Lamborghini and a Performante. What the he!! is a Perfer-a-mante is this one of Uncle Johnny's car LOL. Even the closed caption Subtitles has you saying Perfera-Monte LMFAO.
