Were the spring not seated properly likely because they were done when the engine was on the scooter previously? Does that make them harder to seat with the clutch assembly in the vertical plane as opposed to horizontal on the bench where you can just seat the springs and they will stay where you put them? Basically is this job much harder with the engine mounted as it will be my first time?
There are tools that hold the springs for when you fit the clutch with the engine in sito. You can also just use a blob of grease to keep them in place and if they move just whip them in place with a flat blade screwdriver.
Kickback Garage thank you all I was doing was putting a new gasket on after rebuilding scooter as engine was out saw two nut in side casing looked at it and watched your video which was very good , I shell now remove clutch and find out the problem thank you
Kool. Met Dean at Euro Lambretta 1992 when he was living in Exeter. He really made it big time in Rimini. Marcello is an old friend from the mod days in Stockholm. Really need to get back. A tired Li 150 would do. Any day! Thanx for your videos, the mechanical bits are the most interesting!
