Welcome to the premiere performance of "Lamento," a composition for contrabass flute and string orchestra, written by Victor Somma.
This piece was premiered at the XX International Flutists Festival of ABRAF, held in Manaus from June 6 to 9, 2024.
In this video, you’ll see myself accompanied by the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Hilo Carriel, bringing this composition to life. It was an incredible experience to perform with such a talented group of musicians.
The contrabass flute is a relatively new instrument and is still rarely explored as a soloist. However, its unique and rich tones offer wonderful expressive potential, which I aimed to showcase in "Lamento."
Despite some audio challenges due to the air conditioning noise, I am thrilled to share this special moment with you. The festival is a significant event for Brazilian music, and I am honored to have been a part of it.
