I remember when he got his Barca debut at 15, i knew immediately that he was something special. In the about 10 minutes he played he created multiple big chances and even had a shot on target. Lamine Yamal is an unbelievable talent and one of my favourite players right now.
I hadden’t even heard about Lamine Yamal before the Euro. He are my favorite player now. He’ll turn 17 on Saturday btw. I hope he get the best gift the day after his birthday
I’m English but have always rooted for Spain in games (that obviously don’t involve England) They had a few bad years but when they are on top of things they are a joy to watch. The team that won the World Cup and Euros in the 2010s was on of the best ever national teams to watch as a neutral
React to Marco Van Basten, if he didn't have to retire early he'd be in the GOAT conversation now without question, he was also Cruyff's prodigy at Ajax.
@@daniaaal for sure but unlike Van Basten Ronaldo wasn't forgotten because he won 2 world cups, for some reason I never hear Van Basten mentioned when people talk about the greatest strikers ever and he was the best player in a league that had prime Maradona in it. And Ronaldo at least got to play into his 30's, Van Basten was literally in the middle of his prime when he had to retire :/
“You are deserving of being granted Spanish citizenship for your affection and love for Spain and the Spanish national team and how they play, undoubtedly the best of all the teams that have participated in the Eurocup. Congratulations on your videos and keep it up, go Spain!”
@@EvieWillNotDie Cucureya would be more correct, Catalan LL is somewhere between Y and L sounds, but closer to Y. But also, just avoid the whole headache and call him Cucu, that's what everyone calls him, much easier to say
Cucurella is better pronounced the way you did at the beginning. It's not an Italian surname, therefore it's not pronounced as an L or double-L in English. He's from Catalonia, not the Basque Country.
We did tell him he was catalan and not basque, but many disagree with you on the L's.

@@EvieWillNotDie Regardless of what people say, @Juan_Dystopian is correct. As a catalan myself, I can tell you his surname is pronounced cucure/y/a, with that "ll" pronounced like /y/awn.
How can you be so mature at just 16? If he puts in a great final performance he could win both best young player of the tournament AND best player of the tournament, at 16? 16!
Bro is 16 (17 as of today, happy birthday lamine!) And he's already drawing defenders like a magnet the way messi did for over a decade. Holy shit im so glad i didn't give up on barca but seriously what are they putting in the water at the farm house? (La masia lol)
Cucurella isn't Basq, he is Catalan, from the coastal town of Alella. His surname is a Catalan word that refers to a local breed of fig tree, and its pronunciation is indeed like "paella" and "estrella".
@@filipfilipov8716 In spanish and Catalan double "LL" is always pronounced similar to /y/ (that's why you're saying cucure/i/a). Single "L" is pronounced like in english. Cucurella is pronounced, as you guessed, somehow like "cucure/y/a", where that /y/ sounds like the /y/ in /y/awn. In reality, in Catalan, that sound is not exactly like /y/ (you have to touch the ceiling of your mouth with the tip of your tongue, which makes a sound somehow in between the arabic LL as in Allah, and the /y/ sound), but it's a good enough approximation.
Euros is great and everything but for me Copa America is much more entertaining to watch. In the euros most of the games are tactical plays with a lot of passes and possesion style of playing while on the other side in the Copa America everybody is fighting for every ball it is constant attacking and counter attacks which for me is much more entertaining to watch
Mbappe was a massive disappointment too. Not being able to work Navas as a 30+ years old with a yellow card is a problem. I’m actually worried about how bad mbappe is playing lately
If you've rewatched Yamal's goal less than 20 times can you even call yourself a football fan? I swear if these things were still saved onto physical film that film would be worn thin before the final gets here on Sunday.
Luke, keep your eyes on this playerJamal. He's gonna be a beast. But there's a whole new generation of young players incoming. You became a fan on the right moment to follow their career from the very start Btw I don't know if you got the notice, but when Costa Rica had a draw against Brazil there was a Costa Rican defender of 19 years old that completely destroyed Vini JR, Endrick and others, the thing is this guy of 19 años was a profesional basketball player like a year or two ago, His mother told him to play football instead and all out of nothing he was called to the national team, destroyed Vini and got hired by Feyenoord to play the champions league wtf and he was gonna be a basket player 💀💀💀💀the name Is Jeyland Mitchell, watch the video Jeyland vs Paraguay and vs brazil...beast defender
I'm sorry that I'm going to mention Messi in this video But whatever he explained about Yamal's movement and IQ in game All those subtle tactics are actually MASTERED by Messi in my opinion, which is why he is considered as the GOAT and not just because he has World Cup and he scores so many goals, he is actually a GENIUS!!!
I don't remember who of the BBC pundits it was, I think Keane, who pointed out that crosses have become severely under-utilized and are actually becoming a very effective attack play again. I think he is right and it has become so frustrating seeing the attacking teams' wingers not committing to that option. It becomes so predictable if a cross only is being considered when the attacking wing/full back is there to help. It's almost as if a cross is seen as a low-quality option and a sign of not having a sophisticated modern approach. I get it, today's wingers are more complete players in terms of goal threat and playmaking skills, but it's become very predictable. Crosses can be so so dangerous and create chaos and even if the defenders are strong and can clear each cross there is still a chance for a dangerous second ball around the box. But no, you see a fast switch to the other side, the winger receives the ball and has space but if the other attackers are not moving into positions where he can do pass combinations with them quick enough he will immediately slow down the game to wait for them and eventually the defense gets into position again and rinse and repeat. Just go towards the goal line and cross the ball! Enough time for the other players to move in to the box. And since you're so deep into the field the offside line is very deep too and your team mates can crowd the box. The amount of times I have seen Germany hesitate to do that and then go for the more carefully approach and slowing download the game after the switch... and then the opppnent gets into position, applies structured pressing, and you pass the ball back to the back 4 and often they get pressed too and ball goes back to Neuer who often had to go for a risky long ball to the wingers.
Okay so actually, Cucurella is Catalan, and the "LL" sound in Catalan ia sort of a mix between the "ia" sound and the "L" sound. So basically, try to press the back side of your tongue against your palate to make an "L" sound and then make a "ia" sound, it should sound something like "CucureLIA", but with a longer, backside of the tongue L. That's how it's properly pronounced
You can literally trust La Masia Youth Academy of @FCBarcelona 🔵🔴 with your blind eyes that’s how good players top world class football players La Masia can produce every single season after season, it’s the same football youth academy who has produced legendary players like Leo Messi 🐐 Andreas Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, Sergio Busquets etc. There were the total of 4 La Masia graduates 🎓 players in Spanish National team against France 🇫🇷 some of them were in the bench as a substitute & some of them were playing the game including Lamine Yamal himself, Marc Cucurella..Alex Grimaldo and Fermin Lopez. Now some of the other La Masia graduated Barcelona were out injured 🤕 otherwise they would’ve been there like Gavi 😢 unfortunately ACL injury still recovering ❤️🩹 Ansu Fati one of the best young La Masia Barcelona player he was just performing like Lamine Yamal for Spain 🇪🇸 last season before he went off injured.
Spain has been doing really bad since 2014, so is understandable for you to not have them as the favorites, they have been doing great again since the past euros
Nope... His name is Catalan there are many Catalan surnames with double l: llopis, Llull, Coll, cullell, Llompart, Monllau... Its has a special sound closer to and i than a L
@@Z.A.N.E19 Over time, I have suggested to Luke that he react to videos of teams and players from Spain, of which there are many, such as: "en el corazón de la decimocuarta", Iker Casillas goalkeeper, etc.......
