A small guide to the Wiccan form of Lammas/Lughnassah as part of the wheel of the year. Including associations and how you can celebrate it yourself. This is only one form of a much older holiday that was added into the Wiccan tradition.
Please note that I am not able to cover everything in this video but I do try to cover as much as I can.

Cailleach is pronounced "Kai-lock" or "K-eye-lock", it is also the word for hag and witch in modern irish!

Not gonna lie... it really hit me how July is a winter month in the southern hemisphere. I always knew that the seasons were flipped but I never thought about the months!

As I am now including my boyfriend and children in sabbats and witchy holidays, I appreciate the more inofrmative videos like this. You tend to be rather midline, not making things about following Redes or laws, thus making things friendly for witches like myself. Thank you for that. Keep being awesome and sharing your wealth of information!

I love the idea of making corn dolls, can you do a tutorial about it?

I think it was amazing that you explained that Lammas and Lughnasadh come from two different cultures💖 I celebrate Lughnasadh being Welsh with Irish ancestors and I get so happy when people become more educated with Celtic culture because it has meshed into other cultures celebrations, which theres nothing wrong with that but it's good to know the origin💖 this video is amazing, I really would love to see your channel grow bigger💖 many blessings🌒🌕🌘

We can’t have bonfires because we live in the desert and it’s too dangerous. Also it’s too hot and dry to be in front of a fire anyway. So we cook our feast at a friend’s house on a BBQ grill. We write wishes on Oak chips and sprinkle them over the hot coals, then cook our feast together over the grill.

Thankfully I can celebrate in the broom closet and outside because my birthday just so happens to be on the same day. I'll just say it's my birthday party. Lol

This was extremely helpful!! I’m a new witch (elemental, I also use runic magic) and I’ve been wanting to celebrate some holidays with my friends!! Knowing that Lammas bread is SUPPOSED to be shared in folklore is great to know for this purpose!

Lammas is my favorite festival. It was the first festival I celebrated after becoming Pagan and this time of year has always been a favorite of mine, the beginning of autumn. In my area we don’t grow a lot of wheat, at least not anymore. Hay is our number one agricultural crop and beef cattle the number one livestock commodity. Hay is essential to the survival of the cattle through the winter. By mid to late August the last of the hay is usually put up. I always include a mini hay bale on my Lammas altar to give thanks for the hay crop. Although I don’t have cattle, I do have other small livestock and know all to well how miserable things get when we run out of hay before spring arrives!

Ah Lammas is actually one of my favorites!! How could it be forgotten?! It's when the garden is the most abundant, I can bake some bread, the weather is great for a picnic lunch or dinner, we could sit long into the night around a fire hanging out with friends and drinking beer, enjoying how green and lush everything is on a forest walk, etc.

August 1 always makes me a little sad, because there’s hints of fall already- summer birds are gone already, crickets start. Maybe what’s needed is a festival to celebrate and mark the occasion. Will pay more attention next Lughnasa. And I need the ritual for protection of livestock! Very informative, thanks Hearth.

I’ve never commented before but your videos have become the number one most helpful tool for my witchy path. You explain everything so wonderfully. I watched this video from start to finish and then restarted it to take notes! I’ve been making a Grimoire “draft” in my notes on my phone before I commit to putting pen to paper and I just wanted to thank you so much for being so so so helpful!!!!
