Quick tutorial on how to remove the HVAC control panel and replace the lightbulbs in the HVAC controls. Note: certain Chevrolet and GM videos also use these bulbs for their HVAC controls /window switch /instrument cluster etc. lamps.
Just a couple things. I just did this and I thank you for the vid. The LEDs I purchased on eBay had wire leads. Be careful when you put these in to make sure they come in contact with the gold contact on the board. The best way to ensure this is to point the leads towards the shaft of the LEDs. It took me 3 tries of plugging and unplugging the dial assembly in and out of the truck to figure this out. Lol. One other thing. I noticed the board is a full on PCBA with sensitive components like ICs and such. If you have a means of grounding yourself before touching the board that might help prevent any damage to the board.
Everyone I’ve talked to has had these lights out and only these. Now I need a fix for the cargo net placards behind the front seats falling out so damn easy.
Would have been great if I were trying to figure out how to get access to and open it open. Needed to see more about the bulb replacement, what tools used, a picture of bulb, I guess once your in figure it out yourself..
Al Dagui you can use a T4/T4.2. From what I’ve found so far EBay has them for the best price. These are the ones I purchased: rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F272510349717 I am in no way affiliated with the seller, just found they had the best deal.
I don't like to knock anyone's video that is trying to help us out. However, the video showing us where the bulbs are was shaky and wasn't clear where the bulbs were. Also, no idea what the devil they looked like. When you say bulbs it would indicate to me it is an actual bulb. Going to eBay (your recommended site) they look more like an assembly. Sorry, Julie Van, I don't think your video was very plain and helpful.
