Perfect Bauhaus style: it is simple and refined, its design was built around its function, less is more when you are looking for the beauty of something you need in everyday life.
Big fan of your content but also the Cp1! It takes a place in my collection amung a couple of 2000's, safari's and a unic. Love the slim form factor and low key detailing. Not everyone wants to use a cigar to write with day in day out haha
I have about 99 bajillion Safaris, Al-Stars and Vistas plus a Studio, ABC, Joy, LX and Nexx. Until recently I didn't even know these slim pens were a thing so I now have on order a Logo, an ST and this, a CP1. The styling conjures up images in my mind of the Parker Vector, particularly in how they post. One day maybe I will get a 2000. I'm not addicted, honest, I can quit any time... :)
I own a stainless steel Logo. I just wish it had the same clip as the CP1. But seeing your review here I'm happy with the metal grip of my Logo. I find it feels like writing with a normal pencil, so I enjoy the slim section.
My impression of Lamy pens: they come across as more "masculine" looking writing instruments. Since being introduced to Lamy pens, I've bought but two, a Safari fountain pen in white and a LX rollerball in rose gold. Had to "feminine" them up, so I went with softer colors. I can appreciate Lamy's simplicity in design which is always nice to have as a choice. Here's hoping the company will manufacture one that I absolutely love!
I have a lamy safari with an EF nib but i still had to flip it over to use the other side to make fine lines (I write really small). Would you say this nib is pretty fine or its still gonna take uptoo much space on a small grid paper line?
Jet pens says the body is titanium. I'm looking for a narrower fountain pen to fit in my Gillio planner pen loop. I use my Safari but it's too big for the loop. I wanted to see the size compared to other fountain pens. So thanks for the help.
The barrel and is probably 9,5 mm (just as you said), but the grip section is just too small with being only 8,5 mm thick. I would prefer 9,5 mm grip diameter and the grip section to be 7 mm longer. I would get a few of them if they would sell it as a CP1 large! I already have the normal CP1 and I also want to get the pencil and the ballpoint, though they are almost too thin for me to use them. But I just LOVE the design of it. And the German prices you mentioned are correct if you include the converter. The pen costs 32 - 34€ and the converter is another 4,50 - 5€.
If you get this on a European website, the prices are amazing. The lowest price I found was for 30.00 dollars. (Of course translated from Euros.) You do have to wait for a while when it's shipping and its probably pricey. I would recommend getting it from Amazon.
I'm interested in purchasing the pen for a friend; however, I've never had non-problematic writing with Lamy nibs, with the exception of the Lamy 2000. I find that the Safari's cap don't seal well which causes the ink to dry which causes hard starts. Does the CP1 cap seal tightly/securely?
I own this pen and I love it. Minimalistic and masculine, also it feels pretty much like metal (it seems like it is metal except for the grip). I am wondering if CP1 platinum has the same design and if there is a noticeable difference with the Golden nib. I like M on my regular CP1 but it seems golden nib comes only in F and EF (at least in Sweden) - any reason not to use M golden nib?
Since I've finally had a great experience using a Lamy nib, I've got this pen on my list of things to buy. I would describe this pen as having a "unisex" look, not too masculine, not feminine. It looks like a simply designed everyday user pen. I like it very much. Can you say how much of a length difference there is, when posted, compared to the Zebra Fortia EM pen?
Thats a totally different case in Germany :) The CP1 with the converter is a little bit cheaper than a TWSBI ECO. That’s because the ECO is a bit more expensive, but mostly due to the CP1 being cheaper. All Lamy pens are cheaper in Germany except for the 2000 and the once that are even more expensive.
