To be franc, it can be crazy hard on the vocal cords - do it too much, and you actually run the risk of growths or fluid gathering along the cords, which can only be removed via surgery. Sounds splendid, but should be used sparingly. And Lana's songs are generally crazy demanding. Not only are their ambitus super broad, but she uses loads of different techniques while singing, which might explain why her performances sort of differ in "quality" - if she's prepared her voice to sing in her head register, her chest register might sound wonky and vice versa. But on her albums, she can prepare her voice to the higher versions, take a break and then prepare her voice for the low parts, and they'll both sound amazing. Okay, rant over. I just read a bunch of pretty mean comments about her from other commenters, where they prepare her with other singers whose repetoire (generally) are a lot less diverse, and I sorta got #triggered :P
@@cecilietobias-renstrm6563 Dumb question, but what is it actually called? Like what she's doing? I think it sounds so gorgeous but I see Lana haters and vocal coaches say it sounds terrible. I so wanna learn to sing like that though.
@Saika Tags you can't always find perfection in perfection itself can you? she was off-key but it was still pleasant to hear, rather than some singers they just went full bar off-key. Besides, her target is not flawless vocal so ~~
I wonder if people realize that when you actually sing, you rely on yourself. It's normal to be nervous. What you're hearing is all her. Sorry the idiots you listen to parade around stage half naked and lip sync. Why would be nervous? They don't have any talent to prove. They rely on a track, and their distracting outfits to get through their shows. Lana has genuine, God given talent. The people who think otherwise are the ones who like generic pop artists who lip sync.
This concert shows that del Rey is a very gifted and dangerously good singer. It is easy to say it now, after the girl wrote six or seven chart topping albums, but if anyone thinks that the girl cant sing then he or she has a severe hearing problems. It is hard to believe that she wrote it herself. But she did. A very dangerous singer;)
I have listened to repeat for way too long now. I don’t get how people say she is bad at singing live??? Are your ears broken? Lana’s vocal range is absolutely crazy her voice is so unique and authentic. She sings her feelings and emotions, no crazy firework, crazy clothes, backup dancers, just a Lana with her amazing voice
I cried too. That's unbelievable what she is doing with her voice here. Born To Die is my favorite song ever so far, I'll never stop listening to it cause it's amazingly sad and beautiful, this version especially. Very melancholic.
As a Lana listener I can say that when you listen the live version you'll rather it than the album one, for those vocals and special details of her in this concert
Iconic as fuck. I miss her using her voice like this. She sounds so magically and great. She still does, but this is everything! I wish I could witness this live, although the two times I did saw her live was heavenly aswel.
[Verse 1] You said I was the most exotic flower Holding me tight in our final hour I don't know how you convince them and get them, boy I don't know what you do, it's unbelievable And I don't know how you get over, get over Someone as dangerous, tainted, and flawed as you [Chorus] One for the money, two for the show I love you, honey; I'm ready, I'm ready to go How did you get that way? I don't know You're screwed up and brilliant You look like a million dollar man So why is my heart broke? [Verse 2] You got the world, but baby, at what price? It's something so strange, it's hard to define It isn't that hard, boy, to like you or love you I'd follow you down, down, down, 'cause you're unbelievable If you're going crazy, just grab me and take me I'd follow you down, down, down; anywhere, anywhere [Chorus] One for the money, two for the show I love you, honey; I'm ready, I'm ready to go How did you get that way? I don't know You're screwed up and brilliant You look like a million dollar man So why is my heart broke? [Instrumental Bridge] [Chorus] One for the money, two for the show I love you, honey; I'm ready, I'm ready to go How did you get that way? I don't know You're screwed up and brilliant You look like a million dollar man So why is my heart broke? [Outro] I don't know You're screwed up, you're brilliant You look like a million dollar man So why is my heart broke
From this footage, you can see that she definitely has the vocal talent - LIVE I mean. I adore her, but she needs someone who can teach her how to compose her performance together. She has definitely improved (LIVE) since this was recorded, and it's mainly to do with nerves, I don't know if she has anyone creatively helping her adjust her vocals for her performances though. :) Anyway, she is an enigma. I hope to one day see her live.
I can say that videos are not the same that listening to her live. I used to thing the same than u, because in the videos she sounds very different. I went to see her a few weeks ago in a concert in Madrid, and she is really amazing. I had never though that she could sing like this, much better than I though. She´s a perfect singer and songwriter.

07:02 You can see everybody is enchanted, mesmerized by her talent and unique voice, the best moment for me is 07:49. amaaaaazing, the moment every single person fell in love for her. melhores momentos, da pra ver que todos até os instrumentistas estão encantados, acho que nesse momento todos se apaixonaram
