Panos Sebert Grant I don't see misery, I think she feels a mix of raw pain and sadness.. along with some nostalgia. She must have lost something more valuable than life to her. Sometimes it's easy to relate to that feeling and I think it makes her music that much more powerful and beautiful. Just my humble opinion though. 👍🏻
Panos Sebert Grant I cry alot to many of her songs. It's quite rare in today's music world to find a performer or artist who conveys such raw emotion and even more, one who can make the audience connect or relate to their pain, happiness or whatever the sentiment.
Nothing is sadder than her wrote that song and had to preform it with controlled emotions. It's about the guy she loved who died. How did she even do it? She is so strong.
Yes, Lana might have said that "I'm usually singing about the same god damn person" but it's been confirmed that this song is about her grandma. If you don't want to believe me then that's fine with me plus she said she lost contact with the guy (aka the love of her life) so how could she have known he died??? And yes, I am (:
Oh my poor Lana, It makes me sad to see the sadness in her eyes and hear the sadness in her voice. She's still so beautiful though. In love with the ending...
She said THE SONG VIDEO GAMES is about and ex boyfriend, that she shared and apartment with, I think she wrote it about the first man she was ever truly in love with like she thought she was going to marry him. She wrote Video Games when she was living in England, in a flat with him over there, she said they both had normal jobs they would both come home from work he would play World of Warcraft and she would sit on the couch next to him and write her songs. She said it was the first boyfriend she ever lived with and how in love with him she was and how simple there life was together.
@@mervebasar1466 what Josh lol? Not Josh... No, Barrie came later when she made it mainstream. And yes that story was true, but she lived with the guy in America, she flew to UK AFTER that relationship and started writing about the relationship that went wrong but she still cherished and will cherish for a long time in her heart, hence the painful emotions.
+Marina Del Rey not my favorite because I can't have a favorite that's so hard ... but this song is so ... you know wow, lyrics and voice :( and like I lost someone, my love, and this song speak to me
Oh my god! This song must mean a lot to her if she was tearing up! I could hardly hear her... but I do the same thing when I cry. My voice gets so tiny hardly anyone can understand me. When I saw her almost crying... I almost cried too!
key Its about her ex boyfriend that she was VERY in love with, who passed away. dark paradise, and video games are both about him. so is most of the born to die album i think. its really sad :(
Even tho the song must have been so emotional for her and also hard to sing the words but she still danced like a queen to make her fans smile and party even more she is such a strong woman and i adore her
Omg , i Can feel the deep pain she was suffering from that moment ;( This Song may mean to her a lot ! Anyway it's one of The most powerful song's of Lana
+Marina Del Rey this song it is about a man she once loved, but he got jailed and condamned to death for killing two people. She sing about him in the song "Drive by" from her album Sirens (her names was May Jailer then) She also talks about him in blue jeans, million dollar men, video games and more songs.
+N KatZ yeah she mentioned in an interview that she's always singing about the same person. I don't think she wants to go further into details about him because whenever people bring up who the songs are about she doesn't get deep into it. I like that side of her though, it's kind a mystery
I can't believe people are saying she's fake... for me Beyonce is fake even though I like some of her songs. There are such an emotions on Lana's performances... it's impossible to fake those emotions.
It may sound weird but for me she seems too perfect, people never see her bad days, fails or romething, she seem unreal becouse of it. And for me a big minus is that she dont write her own songs, but I don't follow news about her so I may be wrong, if so then I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt anyone feelings I just say how I feel about her. YUNG LUNA
A lot of people are saying they hate when the crowd "sings in unison so loud you can't hear the artist" and "no one asked you to sing"...but she did. At the very beginning. Probably to help her get through the song seeing as she was on the verge of tears from the beginning of the song. Just a thought.
You can see the emotion in her eyes, I felt as though she was ready to cry at any moment. Her music is a work of art, as well as her entire existence. I’ve never seen anyone so beautiful and heard something so beautiful as her and her songs
Freezy Rachel And when they're quite everyone says the audience is "dead", let them have fun man for most of them this is probably the last lana del rey concert they'll ever go to and I can tell that Lana appreciates their support and love that they show her through cheering and singing along. Anyways have a good day, cheers
Your Mom I know right?! I watched Ariana Grande perform Bang Bang alone without the other two artists, and barely anyone seemed interested in the concert. It made me feel so bad because I can't imagine seeing someone sing their heart out and feel like no one is interested in the music. I'm glad that audiences connect with the performers because that shows that they're connecting, but sometimes it does get annoying if you can't hear the artist the entire time.
I think I'm agree.....she said that a lot of her songs in "Born to Die" is dedicated to her 'true love'. And "Dark Paradise" is one of them....I feel so sad watching Lana sing a song that meant a lot for her (not everytime she sing "Dark Paradise") *sorry for bad english*
Video Game is one of them too, she says *all* her love songs are about this one person she was with around 15-16 or I'm not sure.. And I don't really think she has told the whole story but enough I guess (oh yeah and she also said he wasn't dead Interviewer: "where is he now?" Lana: "He's out there" (btw that's not direct quotes just what I remember them saying) the interview is on RU-vid somewhere)
H.A.i.G she writes from her and a characters point of view, not every song of hers means something from her past, but there's definitely deeper meaning in this song.
Pixel-HD there's rumor that her true love is someone called "K" (once again, its rumor). If you listening to "For K part 1" (her leaked song from "Sirens" album) maybe you can get a little story about what happens to K.... but once again, its just rumor.
I love this! wish the quality was better. She draws you in with the tears, makes you feel the pain, then starts dancing and everything is better. :) Queen of Emotions.
Lana describes everything that I feel. As a songwriter, her words sum up everything that is inside of me; all my emotions, all my pain. I never thought anyone understood the way I felt, or felt what I felt. But then in 2011 I discovered Lana and I said "She gets it. She's like me." I have lived this song and I feel that same pain that Lana sings about. I know it. I have lived it. Lana really does speak for us her fans. She is our voice!
she’s so beautiful & i loveee this song & performance. ppl in the lana stan community say that this song is a “local” song & while that may be true, u can’t deny the storytelling and dark lyricism mixed w these beautiful instrumentals and sounds in the song. a classic story of pining after a dead lover. she really captured the feeling for mourning here. beautiful
All my friends tell me I should move on I'm lying in the ocean, singing your song Ah, that's how you sing it Loving you forever, can't be wrong Even though you're not here, won't move on Ah, that's how we play it And there's no remedy for memory your face Is like a melody, it won't leave my head Your soul is hunting me and telling me That everything is fine But I wish I was dead Every time I close my eyes It's like a dark paradise No one compares to you I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side Every time I close my eyes It's like a dark paradise No one compares to you I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side All my friends ask me why I stay strong Tell 'em when you find true love it lives on Ah, that's why I stay here And there's no remedy for memory your face Like a melody, it won't lift my head Your soul is hunting me and telling me That everything is fine But I wish I was dead Every time I close my eyes It's like a dark paradise No one compares to you I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side Every time I close my eyes It's like a dark paradise No one compares to you But there's no you, except in my dreams tonight Oh oh oh, ha ha ha I don't wanna wake up from this tonight Oh oh oh, ha ha ha I don't wanna wake up from this tonight There's no relief, I see you in my sleep And everybody's rushing me, but I can feel you touching me There's no release, I feel you in my dreams Telling me I'm fine Every time I close my eyes It's like a dark paradise No one compares to you I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side Every time I close my eyes It's like a dark paradise No one compares to you But that there's no you, except in my dreams tonight Oh oh oh, ha ha ha I don't wanna wake up from this tonight Oh oh oh, ha ha ha I don't wanna wake up from this tonight
