remember how the media used to mock her 24/7 when born to die came out? they treated her like a fad and tried to make her look like a fraud... she's easily one one the best lyricists in the industry.
I love her sm I’ll do anything to support her and shout the truth about her which is that she’s literally an artist. She has a beautiful mind and she’s amazing.
She told in an interview why she cried. She said that she felt that these people cared so much about her while she wasn't caring of herself (because of her depression) and that made her sad
lana; "I’d been sick on tour for about two years with this medical anomaly that doctors couldn’t figure out. That’s a big part of my life: I just feel really sick a lot of the time and can’t figure out why. I’d gotten these shots in Russia, where we’d just been. "It was just heavy. It’s just heavy performing for people who really care about you, and you don’t really care that much about yourself sometimes. I thought it was sad. I thought my position was sad. I thought it was sad to be in Ireland singing for people who really cared when I wasn’t sure if I did."
crouds are pretty much always supportive. sometimes theres real assholes (they should be expelled from the concert, like the person who stole tyler joseph's shoes, punched him and ripped his shirt) and sometimes the crowd has too much emotions. people are supportive in their own ways. sometimes even a crowd that is not way too loud is not that supportive.
Reason why she was crying: "It was just heavy. It's just heavy performing for people who really care about you, and you don't really care that much about yourself sometimes. I thought it was sad. I thought my position was sad. I thought it was sad to be in Ireland singing for people who really cared when I wasn't sure if I did."
Emre Bulca It means she Was sad she didn't care about herself and having so many people sing her song along with her out of love, made her feel sad she couldn't see herself the way we see her.
Lana was in Dublin again recently and after she performed this she said “I think I cried the last time I sang that here” and laughed. It’s so good knowing that she’s doing sm better now and she seemed so happy during the concert
And this, ladies, gentleman, and everyone, this is why Video Games has been deemed “Song of the Decade”. The song that catapulted Lana into stardom. The song that led Lana into being a songstress should defined the sound of an entire decade. This will forever be the definitive Lana song.
I started crying when she was crying because I was thinking about how some of the lyrics of the song probably fit quite well with the relationship between Lana and her fans, like "It's you, it's you, it's all for you, everything I do. I tell you all the time heaven is a place on earth with you." and "It's better than I ever even knew.", and I heard that Lana herself said how she could hear, feel and see how all these people loved and cared so much about her, even though at the time she didn't really love herself.
Amen to that! Much love and Respect! Love u lana! From David lane! ... Hats off girl! Keep your head up! I'm working on bettering my life! Know Time I guess I will make it!?!?!?!.... I'll miss u love! 🕊🍃🌷🍃🌷🍃🌷🍃🕊🎼🙏🙏🎼🌠🥁🥁🥁🌠
for the ‘it’s you it’s you it’s all for you’ part i like to imagine she was reminding herself that all of these people are here to see her and she’s not worthless, no matter what she thinks sometimes. and everything she does isn’t always for herself, but her supporters and friends.
Seeing her cry, hearing the crowd, brought me back to 2012 when I was in high school playing this on repeat in my room. And this song manifested into this room full of people singing her song back to her... idek. It’s just such a beautiful full circle
I’m so happy this audience was singing along with her and cheering her on while she was crying instead awkwardly staying quiet and observing because it really made the performance more powerful than it already is and I didn’t even know that was possible. Ugh Lana deserves the world.
Not sure why she gets so much hate, really can't get my head around it, she's a great dinner songwriter, she shy, genuine and by all accounts a really nice person. I love her uniqueness and can't wait for new material from her
Not quite yet because the amount of hate I've seen in the comment sections on her Rolling Stone interviews are so overwhelming it's almost cancerous, but hey, at least her improvement is finally getting acknowledged and some music critics have started to take her seriously, or even fallen in love with her musical styles. That's definitely something to cheer about.
Frname I think it's titled as "18 Things You Learn After Two Long Days With Lana Del Rey" where she talks about her personal life, and the other one is her "Ultraviolence" album review, I guess. As a friend I wouldn't advise you to check it out because when I read it, it sort of messes up my mind for quite a moment. But then, people always have distinct opinions and like it or not I just have to accept and respect it because different people likes different things, and it's pointless for us to argue or go against them personally because we might end up making things worse. Well, I've also learnt that if I really adore her, I'll love her no matter what people say about her. To me, she's still a talented singer-songwriter who makes offbeat and refreshing songs. I'll just leave the critics alone to judge whatever the heck they want. :)
Walter Velvet Gregson I checked the first article you mentionned and I really didn't see any hateful comment excepted by the same guy who trolled and posted a few comments. But it was the same troll behind all the messages. + I used to be upset like you while witnessing hateful comments. But just keep in mind that people behind a screen say things they would never dare say in front of the concerned person. It's just trolling or ignorance. And if you see some serious comments being wrong about her, correct them. That's what I do. But, trust me: there really is not huge hate about her anymore. People got over the buzz and, over the years, they realize how much she's talented, authentic and stuff. + Misoginy. Women are the targets of many on internet. Whatever she can do, a woman getting successful will gain a lot of haters who will automatically question her about authenticity, talent and stuff. It's not personal against Lana. It's just idiocy.
Can you imagine her watching videos of her idols/going to shows before she hit it big, looking up at the stage, wishing to be up there singing? Now she's the one we're watching. And hearing all these people scream your name when you were once the person in the crowd screaming? And beginning to sing the words to the song you wrote alone in your bedroom, having thousands of people sing along with you? I can feel the emotion when she stands silent, unable to speak over the volume of the crowd. Must be the most insane rush in the world. Sing it, Lana ;)
Mary E I was going to disagree with you at first but I think you might be partially right. She knows she's one of the best but probably felt a lot of disappointment when so many of her musician peers and music journalists didn't take her seriously. Hearing her fans VALIDATE her in this way is a painful relief.
One of the best things about Lana is that every time she sings a song, it's like it's for the first time. It's always so pure and raw and true. It's absolutely heartbreaking and breathtakingly beautiful. We get to live through that moment as if it were happening right there, all over again, for the first time. She's so true, she's so genuine and honest in every lyric, every syllable, every vowel, every consonant. I adore you Lana, forever and always
"it's you, it's you, it's all fo you... Heaven is a place on Earth with you" people are just singing that back to her. So much beauty in this whole scene
+Saoirse To be honest, it would be incredible to hear thousands of people singing a song that you wrote, and thousands of people liked you enough to come see you. Just my opinion.
I'm binge watching lana's live performances and goddamn this one made me so emotional.. Her songs.. The way she sings.. The way the audience sings with her... It's all so beautiful that it touches my soul.
People do say horrible things about her. She worked hard, didn't get very far, went away, reinvented herself COMPLETELY and came back with this persona, and gets mauled by people. She is still a real person!! She's never seemed the most confident performer, but she is growing into herself now. She looks fantastic, and I would sing along with her too! I just hope she remembers times likes this next time she gets shit from people and doesn't become another rehab casualty. I really enjoy her music. This performance is my favourite. She's a real person here, not that persona. And I smiled too. And WOW. That smile is amazing.
I really love that she did that and the fans responded that way. You're right ***** I was surprised too. She is a very shy. I'm not a gooey fan of anyone really, but when someone I like shows me their human side, I respond to that in kind. Somehow it makes me want to help protect them in a way. The world is a nasty place.
Literally laying in bed crying because someone commented on a compilation video of all Lana's best live performances and this was in it and they said she was crying because she had a medical anomaly which the doctors couldn't figure why she was sick all the time. And basically she was crying because she was singing in Ireland for people who care when she wasn't sure if she did.
And that exact moment was a gift to her heart and soul, in the moment it was needed the most. Lana's works remind many of us about our own heart, and that to love and feel the ebb and surge of all emotions...isn't weakness, it's strength. I love her, and everything she does. ❤
"Only worth living if somebody's loving you, and baby now you do." THAT LINE OMG AND SHES SINGING TO ALL HER AMAZING FANS, THIS LINE IT HARD FOR ME AND I BET IT DID FOR HER
It is amazing how perfect her notes are when she is relaxed. after all the critic and the dirt they throw on her in america she has found happiness and appreciation here. This was really amazing support from her fans. She is blessed to have them.
She talks about why she cried here. She credits it to not being able to fathom how much love people have for her, when at times she may not have had this love for herself. Makes u really cry
aaaand I'm crying. As a musician myself, I cannot imagine getting on stage and listening to thousands of people who know every one of my lyrics. powerful stuff.
