@Nightingale99 Lana is amazing live, she has a wide range that you may not be able to discover through most of her songs but you can look up alot of her live performances and see for yourself.

@@ez-ix7tq I don't think the problem is lana singing. You can't hear her either when she sings breathy or low notes like chorus and verses. You can hear her perfectly normal in the bridge when she gets higher like when she said summertimeeeee. You have to low down the other stuff to hear her in those parts and get it higher again when she is going higher
She isn’t confused. She’s trying to speak to her team with eyes and they’re not paying attention. I imagine they feel helpless cause they can’t stop the performance so they kinda hope someone notices.
Why did they even post this video? You can tell this is a sounds issue and not Lana herself. She has the mic right up to her face and you can't hear her over the music? I really wish she could catch a break because she is a lovely performer in more intimate venues.
@Kelli L Lana herself said that she is not good of a performer and she is better as a songwriter, but I don't agree, personally I think that Lana is a good performer too, she just had a stage fright and maybe didn't sound so good in 2011-12 especially in televisions (snl) but she improved a lot later, also in this performance she managed to get out of the situation cause if you listen closely, she sang higher so we can hear her singing. It's normal if you think that she's not a good performer cause everyone is entitled to their opinion, also I wanna add that I have some of her live performances downloaded instead of studio versions cause I prefer some of them over
It really irritates me when talented musicians/singers are let down like this. You can clearly see that she wanted the instrumental to be turned down and as a sound engineer your job is to quickly adjust. WTF , SORT IT OUT MATE!!!
If you look closely it looks like she might be trying to tell them to turn it down and then back up because it's too quiet then mcr used to do that all the time trying to get the people to fix the mic while they were on stage. Right in the first verse of this song
well, my daughter just forced to watch a Taylor Swift performance in this "lounge" series. everytime I hear that woman sing, I think: how tf can this horrible singer be a mega star? can someone please tell her to drop the horrible "music" she does and start a porno career? that's where she can give something to humanity.
Haha not really. I LOVE and adore Lana, but she’s one of the few artists who just don’t like singing live and doesn’t put any emotion into her performances. She just doesn’t like to sing live.
even tho the sound engineer tried to do her dirty she some how during the midle and towards the end she actually started to face up the sound and that's why lana del rey is and will allways be a queen
@@99centlips agreed 100 percent. Her style is more shallow with a buttload of reverb. She doesn't belt and her voice honestly isnt that special. Her style is though 100 percent and her voice works for it. If they turn up mic volume and turn off reverb this performance wouldn't sound as special as it does. This is her style and I'm not sure how people still dont realize it.

I love her, but the mix is so messy, it's Big Weekend 2017 all over again. She has a beautiful voice but sadly her loud backing track and overall mix doesn't do her no good. The fact that this was a pre-recorded performance and they didn't even tried to fix the mix, I-.
Great point all round. There's also the fact as you've mentioned that this was actaully pre-recorded. Didn't they watch / listen back?! Perhaps they wanted to sabotage her. Also, where was her manager? He should have been in the control room losing his shit.
@@lowsparks2008 I know! As much as I'd like to put all the blame on BBC as a fan I just can't ignore the fact that she's been using this practice ever since LFL got released. It sucks, some songs from the LATTM tour got completely overshadowed by the loud backing track. Idk if she thinks it sounds cute or makes her performance more dynamic, it's not, it's just annoying. The problems with the mixing were there at the beginning of the tour and until today they haven't bothered to fix them. It's such a shame, because we all know what she's capable of we just have to watch the Apple Performance earlier this year, the Instagram Live Sessions we have gotten this week and before or even this Doin Time performance. She was hitting some amazing notes at the end, just for it to get overshadowed by the instrumental track and some loud backing vocals. Well, at least we got the official live instrumental of Doin' Time, I guess.

No, she looks like that because the instrumental was way too loud and she was frustrated. in the beginning of the video she does a hand gesture for the music to turn down but they don’t turn it down.
First time hearing it. Thank you for not ruining it. It sounded so mastered, and not just someone else signing it. The cover wasn't over the top, it was easy, just like the song. I love it.💜
@S Kcn It doesn't sound the exact same as the studio version. She sings an extra "summertime" and then more vocals at the "yeah yeah yeah" part. She could've planned for that. But I wouldn't be surprised if she was so irritated with the performance's loudness that she waited for that quieter part to try save the performance with those vocals.
yeah but all comments are the same. enjoy her legs. the sound is horrible but still a lot of views. but I seem to be only one honest enough to say it out loud: in this clip, we worship her legs.
I feel like this is why people say she is bad live. Lana's voice is unique and beautiful and soft. The sound definitely was too high. Her voice was made for a lounge or intimate setting. Even in her huge live performances on tour it's hard to hear the intriquicies of her voice with all the other backing vocals and instruments. I love her live performances, and she is able to sing loudly, I just think it's not her choice of style to belt it out. I think people expect this big voice, and they think if you don't have a big voice you're not a good singer.

@@estebanrosado6069 I know its live, but I am guessing they get at least two separate audio files (music + voice), so they turn the volume up on the latter so we can actually hear her voice 🤷🏽♂️😂
