Nice video! I was hoping to see my house while you were departing/approaching Falcon Field. I see you guys flying over all day. I’m about a half mile south, yellow house in a golf course community. I’m usually sitting in the pool, watching guys who are on left downwind for landing south. That Lancair looks like a very nice plane!
crjetpilot At the time this was filmed, I was living in Eastern New Mexico; coming over the mountain and seeing Phoenix and Falcon was like an oasis in the desert. What a beautiful place to fly to! I envy being that close to the airport - so many cool planes come to Falcon Field. I’d need a chiropractor after looking up all the time!
This is the perfect place for me! I don’t play golf but I love watching planes! And I’ve seen many really cool ones, from Ford Trimotor to DC-3, old warbirds, to just training airplanes flying over all day. Between that, and videos like yours, it makes me want to go buy a plane again, though I try to resist that urge. Probably much more sensible to just fly at work.
I recently bought a 360 MKII from a guy at FFZ. I absolutely love flying it. Looking forward to getting together with some other Lancair owners to do some flying and video. Are those Clarity Aloft you are wearing? how do you like them in the 360?
Hi Levi! What tail number did you acquire? The Lancair community is pretty small and the Phoenix area seems to be a center for Legacies and 360s. I can definitely recommend two places as FFZ for general work and avionics that are nothing less than Lancair experts. I love the Clarity Aloft in the 360; the lack of bulk keeps your headsets from bumping into the canopy.
