@derekllewellyn6663 Lol. I love your thumbnail pic. From the old NES game. My brother and I spent hours trying to beat that game. Thank God for Game Genie.
We used to have a Jaws weekend at my house every July 4th. Precious early 90s VHS memories! This is awesome! I love this damn movie. Every true jaws fan does.
Looking forward to this!! I always enjoyed Jaws The Revenge and found it to be unfairly criticized. Yes there are some obvious flaws, and the finale isn't the best (Liked the impaling version though!), but it's a creepy film with good acting, a great soundtrack, some scary moments (Sean's death, Banana boat, ship wreck chase) and even some clever ideas such as having a heart monitor track the shark's heart beat, and then shock it near the end. Did it all work out perfectly? No, but I appreciate the film and what it tried to do.
One thing not mentioned was that Lance guest would be invited as one of the pallbearers at the funeral at Judith barsi who played his daughter and Lorraine Gary's granddaughter thea Brody as in July 1988 one year after Jaws the revenge and at her Canoga Park California home she was shot in her sleep killing her instantly by her abusive alcoholic death threating father jozsef barsi who then shot while murdering her mother Maria in the hallway two days later he set fire to the house then went into the garage and used the same murder gun to kill himself which was why Lance said something about her mum always so nervous with a strong accent from hungary
this is so awesome, jaws the revenge is a movie i hold close to my heart, y’all at daily jaws are awesome, bless lance and mitchell, and rest of the crew

Sean's death scene was pretty intense and brutal the first time I saw it .. Mitchell Anderson did a good job at making it seem real in that moment of shock when he sees his arm. That was the intense moment that would be ime one of the franchises. Best kills
I wish they had given Sean the state of mind to try to drive his boat back rather than just scream for help; and having his screams drowned out by christmas carols was a bit much.
I saw Jaws 4 as a kid in the movies in 1987. I loved it despite the bad reviews at the time. Lance Guests voice sounds exactly like it did 35 years ago.
Jaws the revenge is a movie that when I finally sat down and forced myself to watch it, I can’t believe they made a movie that bad and decided to put it out for the masses
@@KDubb-ws9zc I thought the storyline and writing in Revenge was good with Brody Jr. being a marine biologist and being wracked with guilt secretly studying a great white while supposed to be tagging shell fish. My issue with the film was the shake look faker than ever when the effects should of gotten better. I bet it would be better than any woke reboot I'm sure they'll eventually make. Disney would make it it a trans-shark in their version😄
@@pinebarrenpatriot8289 Brody Jr. Being a marine biologist wrecked with guilt would’ve been a great storyline but the problem was the execution of the storyline. Not much at all makes sense in the plot, there’s glaring continuity errors, none of the supporting characters are interesting in the least, and like you said the effects got worse. I can’t think of one good aspect of the film to be honest…
This interview is great and information I really really love! Thank you for giving the fourth Jaws movie some love. Somehow I always have interest and love for the black sheep movies in a franchise...so every little detail in information is welcome
I remember seeing Jaws The Revenge at the cinema in August 87 a month before my 10th birthday I'm now 44. I still have the tie in novel by Hank Sears. Which would have been great if Universal used the Voodoo sub plot & the fact the Hoggie (Michael Caine) was a drug smuggling ex C.I.A agent
I had the novelization back in '87 too but I never got through it (wasn't a strong non-comic book reader back then). Eventually I lost it years later. But, I now have a vintage copy in really good shape in my library and I keep it in a plastic archival bag for safekeeping. One day I'll read it all the way through.
Sean's death was so cruel. Watching Mitchell and Lance together in this interview, it's obvious that they would have had good onscreen chemistry had Sean lived in Jaws The Revenge.
"I always wanted to make love to an angry welder"(IF she looks anything like the actress who played Thea's mum in the film!😍) When I was just 12 and saw this film at the cinema that line really amused me. R.I.P. Judith Barsi
This was great. You should interview production designer Joe Alves, and actress Carla Hogandyk, the actress who played the girl who yelld "shark" 🦈 in the estuarry. They had an on set romance, but sadly broke up a year or two later. But they hung out at a 2015 Jaws event, and were friendly with each other.
I saw Jaws the Revenge in the movies the summer of 1987. I was 7 at the time. I also got the NES game that Christmas. This was a good interview but I feel like Mitchell didn’t really want to be there. Living in Atlanta I visited his restaurant and it was really good! I really want to see Lance in the sequel to the Last Star Fighter! I wish they talked about the shark more.
I really enjoy Jaws The Revenge very much. Jaws 3-D is ok with me, Jaws I absolutely love and Jaws 2 is entertaining it's like The Lost World Jurassic Park in my opinion. However, Jaws The Revenge (1987) is my personal favorite. Lance Guest is awesome in this film as Michael Brody and Mitchell Anderson was great as Sean Brody too. This film creeped me out the most when I saw it on SUPERSTATION WGN back in 2000. Btw this interview was fantastic good job my man 👍. The scene that creeped me out the most was when Jaws was chasing Michael Brody in the sunken ship. That scene is my top 100 scariest movie moments. I wonder if Lance Guest misses the mechanical shark Jaws I mean If I was him I would lol.
Brilliant channel and awesome interview. We are blessed that we get to catch up with these guys from the films we grew up with. First two are a different league but 3d and revenge are just a fun ride to take every so often. I still watch them all multiple times a year/month 😅
I don't care what anyone says. I LOVE JAWS: THE REVENGE. Always have. Yeah, okay...the great white following the remaining Brodys to the Bahamas is ridiculous...okay, agreed. However, I think the shark looked amazing. I love the characters. The little girl who played Thea did an AMAZING job as a little actress (poor baby was murdered by her own father in real life I believe. Horrible). The fact that they brought back Mrs. Kitner and the other woman from part 1 for the scene when Michael comes back home for Sean's funeral is cool. And I think the whole Bahamas thing works because it's winter in Amity (so not much swimming happening) and it shows that the shark is that determined. Michael Caine (although he may speak poorly of it now) did a great job as Hoagie. The whole banana boat sequence was awesome and looked real as hell. Plus I love (eventhough it's not shown in the theatrical cut) how the shark is killed in this one. Yeah it looks kind of fake (the killing) but it's just cool. They always showed the intended ending on cable (nostalgia...😁) and it's ALSO included as a bonus feature on the U.S. Blu-Ray, eventhough it doesn't mention it on the case. Lol I think they also call it a tiger shark on the synopsis on the case. Lol. Universal should get someone who's actually seen the movie to write those. 😅 Yeah, JAWS 4 definitely has some faults, but it beats 3 all the way. It feels like a warm visit back to Amity while part 3 (or 3-D) feels like the odd man out in my opinion. I'll always have a sweet spot for it. 🦈⛵
That was fabulous. Always liked Lance's performance in this movie. Wish the movie itself was better, but I loved it as a kid. Also felt bad that Sean was killed off so soon.
the 4th will always have a special place for me, was the first one i seen as a little kid so i wasn't aware of its rep so to speak. i remember loving it!
There is something to the movie that makes it good to watch still... could be the way it was filmed, the place, the chemistry or something else among the cast and the time when it was filmed, but it is a nice movie to watch. When lance runs on the beach, at the bahamas, its beautiful... and the gentleman that drive the limo (singing) while taking the family, its just good
You gotta be kidding me. This is one of the worst films ever made and one of the worst I’ve ever seen. I love Jaws as much as the next guy but I’m not gonna act like the revenge was a good film
When talking to Lance Guest, the proper way to say hello is, 'Greetings Starfighter'... I would've HAD to! Lol! Yeah, J4 is one of the best unintentional comedies ever, I love J3 for the same reason, it's hilarious! Lol! But The Last Starfighter is my favorite Lance Guest movie ever...hands down! 🖖🏿😎👍🏿🦈🦈🦈
This is a great channel .i was sad when sean died in the beginning of jaws revenge . This was a fantastic interview . thank you for sharing ❤ i had to buy Jaws DVD collection for my birthday years ago rip Judith she died un a horrible way 😢the little girl that played Michael s daughter in jaws revenge
Mitchell's Sean Brody's death was very realistic I thought at the time and still do now. Some superb acting! Whenever I hear the Carol 'Nöel' the first thing I think of is that scene and I can even hear Mitchell screaming out. My younger brother by 2.5 years is exactly the same.I just tested him/asked him what the first thing that comes to his mind, started to sing the chorus, and the first word out of his mouth was "Jaws"!
@@Joey7Z7Horror I think Jaws 3D is the worse of the franchise. Not much I really enjoy about that film. Louis Gossett, Jr. is the best part of that film and I think he should have been in the film more.
@@Jared_Wignall Personally I think the film is very underrated. Really there’s not too much bad about it, it’s just the execution. A highlight for me is the soundtrack. Even if it’s not visually part of the film, that shit has me addicted for years
Oh man! I was just in Atlanta... had I known! Very fun interview. Nice to see them both doing well. I still watch 4 on occasion. It's absolutely preposterous, but it's a fun watch. Would love to see them do a sequel to The Last Starfighter!
Jaws the revenge is leaps and bounds better than Jaws 3… I genuinely have never been able to sit through that movie without being under the influence of a form of substance
I particularly find Jaws The Revenge laughable. But apparently, it bought houses for the majority of the cast, so who's laughing now? 🤣🤣 Amazing interview! They're both very sweet and you asked great questions. Thanks for all the Jaws content!
Jaws the revenge is a guilty pleasure because I saw it as a kid and didn't know better. However as bad as this film is, I loved the first 15 min or so. Lots of nostalgia and Sean's death is horrific. After that meh. Def not lances fault he was great and him and Lorraine were great together. Can't do much with what they had to work with
Its not the actors fault, but the plot of the shark following the Brody family to the Bahamas, how does that make any sense to the audience, because of this fourth film has stopped the chance of a new Jaws Movie being made & its up to Steven Spielberg to allow a Jaws 5 to happen,Jaws 2 was the only good sequel
I.lovebthis movie. The acting is good and the story is left to interpretation. I always felt like the roaring was all in Ellen's mind as she is steering towards it. I think if they'd showed the shark 30 percent less it would be great. The score is also phenomenal
Sure, Jaws 4 didn't turn out great, but these two dudes performed their jobs well w good performances so there is no shame in their game. I'm sure it's fun to have been part of the Jaws legacy. I own all the Jaws movies on blu-ray. All of the movies are valuable for their nostalgia and I enjoy them for what they are. Good job, guys.
I was in the theater for Jaws 3-D and The Revenge. 3-D was an Amazing experience being a child..Summer time, a cold theater, junk food and Bruce in 3-D eating people lol. Revenge was a good experience but not as good as 3-D. I would watch any and as many Jaws sequels especially with practical effects. Who wants to make another JAWS with practical effects?? I'll put time and money into it..who's down?? Lmaoo
Jaws V - Michael Brody is a lengendary underwater cinematographer, oceanographer and Underwater engineer. He is infamous for having spent decades hunting and killing sharks, some species almost into extinction. He lives in Australia and acts as a Hollywood underwater advisor on big horror movies. The movie is set in 2003 during the war in Iraq. An Australian navy diver contacts Mike to lead a team of divers in the gulf of Bahrain on a half sunken Oil rig. It is a rescue mission to save a hroup of rig engineers who are trapped underwater. To complicate things Mike's daughter Thea is visiting him when Mike is approached to do this and one of the people to be saved is Mike's mentor Matt Hooper. Thea finds a way to tag along as Mike is flown in to the war torn country. Further, when he arrives in Iraq Mike is contacted by his childhood friend and the son of Mayor Vaughn of Amity island. Larry Vaughn, now a conservationist, pleads with Mike not to do the dive, but Mike ignores him. Eventually Mike finds himself on the half sunken wreck of the rig with demolition charges about to explode, a group of Iraqui national guardsmen shooting weapons at him and his team and time running out for a wounded and elderly Matt Hooper. Throw in some sharks trpped in the sunken parts of the rig that they have to get through to disarm the explosves...
I was traumatized by Sean’s death as a kid. I was so invested in those characters when I was young and watched 1, 2, and 3 over and over as a kid. (Especially 2) when I finally saw the fourth one I was so upset when that character died. I couldn’t watch the whole movie until I was in my twenties.
I found Jaws Revenge had a bit better vibe than Jaws 3. Though both so silly with much lower budgets compared to first two. Incidentally, I love the Halloween 2/Jaws actor connections 😉
Really interesting interview and such fun to hear actors talk about their experiences onset and about the movie. I agree JTR is better than 3 and could have been close to 2 if all of it was filmed in Amityville (plus would have been easier to suspend disbelief) and maybe had another decent death scene or two to sell the danger of the shark a bit more. I thought the acting was above par all round and some of the shark scenes were better done than in 3 that's for sure. The original ending is better than the changed ending but another ten minutes or so of them Vs the shark in the third act would have helped the film. I think another Jaws movie is defo worth a shot by Universal. I'd go for a period piece as Jaws works best in the era of the first two. Funny when you look at it JTR is similar to H18.
I liked this movie when I was a lot younger, but now I see just how ridiculous it is. It's still something I'll watch if it's on tv, though I often get distracted thinking about what happened in real life to that poor little girl who played Thea. What an unspeakable tragedy that was.
Jaws 5 should be Michael becomes obsessed with sharks and turns into a Quint type of guy, believing that his sole purpose in life it to rid the world of sharks
I saw this movie in theater and I never liked it, BUT I must say that it's not the fault of any of the actors. They all did a good job, particularly Lance Guest and Lorraine Gary. The directing, the photography, the way the shark was shown and a laughable ending is what kills the movie. I truely think that the "PTSD Ellen Brody" angle had some potential for a good Jaws sequel.
@TheDailyJaws I'm sure they are busy at times, but eventually you will get them. I'm sure Mario Van Peebles will do it. Michael Caine not too sure though.
@@jarmelo2006 Yes, I love Jaws The Revenge very much its one of my personal favorite sequels too. I wonder what Mario Van Peebles would say about the movie. I'm sure he would enjoy talking about his experiences on the set and working with the cast.
These interviews with these cast and smaller parts etc is brilliant You can always bank on the smaller parts of roles still to have amazing stories to tell. The effects and roaring sharks ruined it. The start has good continuity and not seeing the shark for a while etc you should try and get mario van Peebles on?!
Never cared for Jaws 4, sorry not sorry one and done. And why so much hate for Jaws 3?? Yeah there’s no connection but I’ve always loved it - and the cast is great imo.
Funny that Lance says that the house he bought with Jaws money cause Michael Caine did the same for his mum and he said famously he’s never seen the film and he just did it for money but he’s seen the house it bought.
Lance is fantastic, but will always be, to me, Alex Rogan. The young high school student, growing up in a trailer park, whom saved our galaxy, and trillions of intelligent lifeforms from Xur and the Kodan armada.
