In this clip, Lance "Un" Rivera looks back on some of his most pivotal business decisions, shortly after the passing of his close friend, Biggie. The New York native recounts buying Cam'ron out of his deal with Dame Dash before helping him launch a successful debut album when he was a brand new artist. Moving along, Lance explains the origin of the Cam'ron vs. Mase beef. He says that Ma$e's attempt to charge his childhood friend $25,000 to appear in his "Horse & Carriage" music video because he was broke after having signed with P. Diddy. Later in the discussion, Lance talks about paying Ma$e to write music for Lil Cease, which lead to the hit single "Crush On You." Lastly, Lance says why he likes "Life After Death" better than Biggie's debut LP, "Ready to Die."

i love that Un broke down the crush on you song. I had no idea that they hired Mase to write that song, i was always under the belief that Cam'ron wrote that song. I love that Un gave the background as to why it's Cease only on the album version. Looking back, that was pretty commonn those days. In order to put someone on officially, they would have a solo song on someone else's album or to push someone even further with their album, a larger name would have a solo cut on the album not listed (i.e. Jay-Z anything on Beanie Siegel debut album). this has to be my favorite Vlad interview. I hope they get to the Sean Carterr stabbing because THAT NEEDS TO BE TOLD.

Dont do Mase like that. He appeared in songs on confessions of fire and in a video all for free. Then mase told Cam that they could charge the label an appearance fee for mase to be in the horse and carriage video and just split the money. One is about the struggle and trying to survive, and the other is about living it up now that he has made it out the struggle. Big was a hustler even tho those bad contracts jammed him up he always adjusted and found ways to eat whether it was getting people to invest or changing his writing credits so puff couldn't take all his money for the publishing. Biggie was going to make all his artist hot. If puff would have protected big instead of letting him get knocked off he would have had a longer run bigger catalog but he didn't want to share that money with biggie greed gets the best of people.

But if you listen to confessions, his songs d rugs and death, he wasn't storytelling like that on his other albums. He was hungrier on his first joint. When he came back in the early 2000s he was more laid back. He was still killin it but in My opinion, confessions showed his diversity and skills more.
