Using the Land Pride Soil Pulverizer SP 3072, and the compact John Deere 2038r compact tractor, I'll show you how to prepare the soil for seeding a new yard. The Land Pride Soil Pulverizer SP 3072, makes preparing the soil very easy.
The Land Pride pulverizer is an excellent implement for landscape companies, small contractors or rural enthusiast like me.
Please consider watching my other videos #10, 11, 12, 84 & 87 to see a smaller Land Pride soil pulverizer used on the John Deere 1025R.
Welcome to my channel, I'm in Dubuque Iowa, and my channel is know as Today in Iowa or Bill Burkhart 1025.Be sure and check out my channel for many videos including the John Deere 1025r tractor backhoe and the many implements I have to maintain my property.

Bill, I did a job just like that this past summer. I used my TR3 Rake and backed up the pile to pull down from the top and did that operation in different directions. My TR3 has a blade that can be locked for mass material moving OR unlocked and allowed to "float" to do a finish grading of material. The owner did some handwork to make look smooth. But the majority was spread about 1-4" depending on location in the field.

Bill after watching a lot of videos I decided to pull the trigger on a soil pulverizer. I had high hopes but still very weary if it would work well in our soil conditions here in Indiana where we have a lot of moisture. Well as your videos show this is probably one of the best investments I have made toward the the tractor. It is unbelievable how productive of a tool it really is and takes a lot of the manual parts out of preparing a seed bed. I do hauling and grading on the side and I think I’ll actually be putting my land plane up for sale. This thing also leaves an unbelievable finish on gravel and really mixes materials well. Thanks for helping so much in all of your videos. God bless.

I just subscribed to your channel. I have been watching your videos for a while but this one caught my eye pretty good. The reason I say that is I purchased a 2032 last year. The exact same tractor but a little less HP. Also a little difference in price. Lol! The only reason I didn’t buy the 2038 was budget. I traded a 2210 I bought in 04 in on it. I love mine. I got the 60 inch belly more, and loader with mine. I already had a 60” disc harrow, Bush hog, and 60” tiller. I could not justify the backhoe no more than I would use it and besides my neighbor already has one. Looking forward to seeing what kind of jobs you come up with for the 2038! From Helena, Alabama, y’all have a good-un!

Hello Richard, thanks for subscribing, I appreciate it! I looked at the 2038 too and struggled when making the decision to go with the 2038, I figure this is my last tractor, so I purchased as much as the budget would allow. Sounds like you have a nice set up with your tractor, enjoy it, be careful and have a great spring.

Retired 75, in process of moving from 60" to 72", 4 cylinder kubota L4701. Tractor still at dealers adding canopy, LED lights, tip/tilt, third function and Quick Hitch QH15. Did not want back hoe, went with mini excavator Kubota K008-3. Enjoy your video. EDIT: Got lots of hobbies, one I like is making compost. Live in area houses have acre lots, so neighbors bring over leaves and cut grass. I add manure and my time, $25 a yard works for me, load trucks and trailers all year long. Have metal shop with some CNC. Had Everything Attachment deliver 72" scrap grapple to dealer, then I added Land Pride HR2572 it will all be delivered when dealer gets done.

Great video. I find I like to make a good (1 bucket) windrow at the furthest end, then backblading with the bucket to set the height, and where it gets thin ill start a new windrow there. It makes a fairly even spread of topsoil quite quickly, the final leveling is very fast. Have you tried this way before?

Another great video Bill! I bought a 3pt quick hitch about a month after I got my L3901DT. I have a Land Pride box blade that is quick hitch compatible and is a real pane to hook to the 3pt without a quick hitch. Makes changing attachment a lot easier. Hello James, I agree that the green paint is expensive........I'm in my 60's and have used many Kubota's. My decsion was made on how close my dealer is to my home, John Deere has a plant in my town, I liked the finer features Deer's has over other brands, and I liked their reputation. Now in my 60s, I was able to make the decision less on money and more on what I wanted. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for your comments on the details I speak about. Those comments keep me going. Hi Bill, again, Nice Video, glad to see the 2038 in action, I knew you would like that IMatch , that makes things so much easier. Just an FYI, Everything Attachments makes great stuff, that's all I buy, the only thing I would suggest to really make you love life is to add a hydraulic top link, that will blow your mind in conjunction with that awesome IMatch, I love mine, but I see you don't have the duel rear SCV's, if you haven't seen my video when I added mine, check it out to see if it might be something that might be of use to you. I've watched your video on the SCV several times and I'm interested in adding it after your comments today. My dealer doesn't seem to want to do add ons after the sale, so I may need to find another dealer to do that work. If you make a video using the hydraulic top link in use, let me know. I was thinking of you last year, I hope you'r not close to all the fires I see on the news.

Happy Sunday Fralin 1966, the 2038 requires a little more room to do a 180 degree turn, but nothing that has caused me to regret moving up to the 2038R. I'll be posting a video this spring comparing the 1025 and the 2038 after owning both for a year. Thanks for taking time to comment - Bill

would a tiller be a much better implement for the job?

Yes, the tiller would have worked well too but would have been pretty slow. I'll consider on my next project, thanks for taking time to comment.

5 acres of bumpy, bumpy yard after removing 200 mature pines 2 years ago. Will this pulverizer (after harrowing) smooth out the yard? OR do I just use a box blade?

I’m in the market for a tractor I have 2.75 acres of land to maintain with horses and a few other animals it will be for my own person use not for doing jobs for other people. I also have quite a bit of landscaping and leveling to do. What would you suggest 25 or 38? Or how about the economical 1023e? I don’t want to over spend but I also don’t want to get something that isn’t going to work
@billburkhart
@billburkhart 4 года назад
Max Sanchez Hello Max, the 1025 will do anything you throw at it, I have the videos to backup that comment. However, being a man and buying boats before, avoid the cost of trading up......purchase as much tractor as you can afford, but the 1025 won’t let you down. Let me know what you purchase.

Hello Bill, I purchased that implement used from a friend in Indiana after asking a Facebook Group if anyone had an aerator for sale. It's made by Everything Attachments and they call it a Southern Lawn Plugger. I'll have a review coming out soon on that piece. Thanks for asking Bill Have a good February.

All of that hard work and will be full of weeds! You definitely done the right think but you should have sprayed roundup over the whole yard probably 2 Applications 2 to 3 weeks apart before you added and pulverized the soil.

Do you have a roto tiller for the tractor? if so which is better the tiller or Soil Pulverizer? Cost of the SP 3072?
@billburkhart
@billburkhart 4 года назад
Hello X Ray, the SP 3072 was around $3,000 and I also have a Land Pride RTR 1274 rear tiller that I'll be demonstrating this spring. The pulverizer is quicker than the tiller for what I'm doing. I purchased the tiller first, thinking it would do everything I wanted. But, I've always wanted a pulverizer so made arrangements so I could purchase both. I'm very blessed.

Wouldn't the harley rake do a better job?
@billburkhart
@billburkhart 2 года назад
Hello MQ, I'd love to have a Harley rake, they're just too expensive to get into. I believe this pulverizer, grades and breaks up large chunks of dirt well and overall is an excellent substitution to a Harley Rake. Thanks for the question and taking time to say hello, enjoy the rest of your week. - Bill
