Land Rover Discovery 5 vs 4,3,2,1 Proper Off-Road Test! 

Welcome to the channel! The D5 is almost like a Range Rover they’ve got so big now! D4 is a good vehicle it did really well on those trails we did !! 👍

Theyre good but the disco 1 and 2 are defo better. Easier to fix, better offroad more reliable. In the US you sadly got the bad buick V8. But over here they have the good 200TDI 300TDI and TD5. And ofcourse the good V8s. I like all but the disco 1 and 2 are the best IMO :)

Cheers buddy it’s interesting to see as no one has done anything like this before on actual challenging trails so credit to the guys coming along to give it a go! Off camera spicy lane is a hard trail go to fast and you’ll get damage so to see the big machines slowly crawl around and do it is amazing! The track is tight and narrow probably suited to jimnys! But the big boys proved you can still get up it!!

Tires is one thing, but Disco 5 has very poor turning radious, that is why it manages worse.

Yah it’s really long such a big heavy car! Didn’t guide have the height compared to the D4 I think??

D5 with all that unnecessary gear, struggled, becuase the thing is overweight

Yeah this was amazing to see the older disco can give it a bit more pace but modern tech doesn’t need it I know they don’t flex but that traction control really does work well!! Great day had by all..

Cheers buddy! Yeah everyone was doing something different in ways they know that works to get the machines up spicy hill! Honestly to see spicy hill on person it’s quite a fear challenge as it’s very tight narrow steep and huge rocks it’s not for the faint hearted but everyone took it there stride pretty well!! 👌

Mate it was an awesome days to have everyone come and really show what these cars can do (sensibly) was great look forward to more trips!! Interesting to see how the D4/D5 just take everything in its stride slowly but still does everything!!

Yes full credit to paul! He’s designed all the underbody protection and all bar work and everything else that’s on the D5! He’s not a shy driver too I’ve seen his Devon videos and those lanes can get pretty nasty down that way! But what an epic line up D1-D5 was so good to watch and spicy lane is really steep super tight and narrow! Great effort by everyone!! 🔥🔥

Cheers ad yeah interesting to see the older discos need little bit more pace,while the 4/5 just sit back and let the computers work out what to do! Yet they all still completed the trails with out failing or winching!! 😁

Hey great to have fans from American! Hope you enjoy the channel!! A D3 should be left as it is but o think He had problems with the airbags so converted it to springs gained a lot of height from doing that and the D3 did pretty well???..👍

My boss has a discover 3 and theyve installed an SRT v10 it spunds incredible only god knows where he managed to obtain that engine. It took him almost 2 years in his spare time to instal is . 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🍻🇺🇸

Gotta love the land rovers haha!! It was so good to have all 5 generations out no winches allowed just see how the drivers and the technology of the vehicles sort it all out!! 👌

Full credit to Paul hes build on the D5 is crazy everything you see on that is he’s own design! And he’s not shy to use it! He’s been on some mega lanes in Devon! I think We nailed and made a cracker of a video!! 😜👍👍

Yes I forgot the D3 was on coils ,The D4 was also impressive.Not many green lanes here in Essex ,but can't complain I have a pay and play day monthly ,ten minutes drive away with Rochford & District 4x4 club

😁🤣🤣 haha unfortunately this all we have here in the uk we’re very limited on the trails as they get Boggy and over used they get closed or if the too extreme they get closed by the authorities so yeah very limited to the “FUN” we can have but we make the best of what we’ve got! Hey Justin,that was a great video indeed! My favourite was the D3 just seemed so much better and bit of underdog as not many people give the D3 credit! Mostly down to reliability 😂 but hell it did everything well!! The d4/d5 very smart motors fair play for the lads bringing them Out and not being shy using them!! 👌

My idea behind the video to show how they’ve changed so much over 30years they got bigger heavier and smoother loosing the shape of the original.. Was a great day had by all! We was going to try going down but may have been a different story with how top heavy and the weight of the 3,4,5..but still good to watch I hope you agree??😁😁

@@ALL_4_WHEELS hi has to be the d2 but really heavy off road work the d1and d2s are the best the3/4/5 just reley to much much on electrics to work well for long periods with out proper maintenance . I think the Pinacle would be a d2 Td5 automatic larger torque converter front and rear e lockers . Factory fitted. Ace so antiroll bars disconnect when in low range .2 inch lift kit 235/850 tyers. A set of maxi drive 49% low range reduction gears would give fantastic low speed control and climbing ability. And a mile marker hydraulic which just to pull the Toyotas out . Great video

To be fair that’s the biggest vehicle that’s done that trail he’s also carrying a lot of weight I think he did amazing! Not once did he give up or get the winch out!! 👌👌

@@richardsquires1785 to be fair, tens of thousands of pounds on a car with a number plate worth more than my D3! You got to take your hat off to this guy for off roading it.

I was filming in 4k 30fps which footage looked bad? I was using CapCut to edit the video hopefully it didn’t compress the video too much I then saved it in 4k.. I’m still learning with use of editing the videos on different software..

@@ALL_4_WHEELS the secondary camera on each section. You can "torrent" adobe premier pro to edit content. Its a really great program once you get used to it. One of the cameras/phones was 720p, no way it was even 1080p. So even when you create your video and render it as a 4K video, each time it cuts to the lower resolution, even though its rendered in 4K, the quality is going to be really poor in comparison to the video recorded in 4K. So much content is viewed on 4K tvs in living rooms, so the high resolution really helps your videos stand out, especially over time.

There was a lot of weight on the D5! 3.1tonnes altogether! I think the trails was just to tight and steep for the big discovery??

I’m Not sure how much off-road experience he had,but was good to see all 5 discovery’s out together even though maybe the D5 lstruggled it still managed to do such a tight track suitable for a Jimny or vitara the D5 is such a huge machine! 🤣👌👌
