Car on 80k kilometres and has knocking sound on cold start, after chain replacement sound disappeared. sorry for poor video quality , just snapped few pictures and short video , next time will try to do better quality video....
I have Doscovery Sport 2018, engine is 2.0 diesel 150HP. So far, he has driven 247,000 km and there are no problems with the chain in the engine. There are no strange sounds, everything is ok. But, that car was driven mostly on the open road, auto road...
It's called regular oil changes, checking, and top offs.... Unfortunately our cell phones are not capable of that so it's become a lost art. Most cars dont even tell you if your 4 quarts low on a 5 quart system. stupidity reigns supreme in the land of humans.
hello thank you for this video great job i have a range rover evoque with the same motor and i need to change the chain but i dont have the tools can you give me just the dimension of the camshaft tool thank you so much
Do you have a chance to add mileage to your video? We have Jaguar E Pace with the same engine. The question is - how to understand when do we need to change it to be on a safe side ?
not remember exact mileage but i think it was around 120k kilometres, the symptoms was noise on cold start up also on hot engine if you let it stay for longer before starting up, also sometimes fault code comes for camshaft and crankshaft timing .... I have seen one with same symptoms even worse with 88k kilometres on clock ....
Thank you so much for this video, i am due to change mine, looks like it will be extremely hard to do on the ground. How long did it take and did you replace vvt gear too?
yeap, on ground will be problematic , as need to remove bottom frame, gearbox etc....takes a bout full working day (working on lift) ..... And yes new VVT valve it come with a kit
@@demoniacRACING thanks for reply, what kit did you buy from jlr? Im looking at ebay kit, seems decent, 200 for chain and gear and tensioners but without vvt tho..
sounds like a chain .... Yeah it is time consuming job.... check on your one using diagnostic tool live parameters (timing synchronisation between camshaft and crankshaft) when starting cold car also on running engine....
