Removing the Land Rover Transfer case means that I also loose the original Land Rover handbrake.
Here's how I go around that and then changed my mind...
IMPORTANT UPDATE: As pointed out by Don (@qfogarty) in the comments it is a really bad idea adding spacers behind the pads because there is a risk that the pads may fall out when they wear down! to get around this I am going to try to update the Land Rover rotors to the vented front type that are 24mm thick (as opposed to the 14mm rotors I currently have). This is 4mm wider than the Tesla rotors (20mm) so I will most likely have to get them machined down a bit. Stay tuned to see what I come up with! Thanks Don for pointing this out! I totally missed that!

Wonderful video Do you have drawings or specs on the spacers you made to adapt the model 3 caliper to the axle and the spacers for the pads? Love your videos!

Thank you! I don't have drawing unfortunately, it was just a case of making them to fit then grinding off the unused bits!

Hey SG , great project. I just stumbled across your channel. I build a EV LandRover 6 years ago, daily driven ever since. I also make LandRover disc brake conversions. Please dont put a spacer behind your pad. Its illegal, wont pass engineering & is dangerous. as the friction material wears the pad will slip out. I guggest using Audi A3/Q3 EPB calipers, you can get them new under $200 . They suit a 12mm rotor , so just swap your rear rotor for D1 / RRC / early Defender 12.5mm rear rotors . Job Done .

Thanks for the usefull information! Yeh, I think I get what your saying, because the pads can now sit another 3mm further in then when worn they may slip out of the caliper retaining mechanism. I'll have to look at this and check with the engineer. I remember your Light weight. Nice one!
