There's no need to take the intake manifold off, just pull the throttle body off the front of it. I hate to think how many people have removed all that just because of this video...
I can see why they went the intake manifold removal route though. I did the throttle body removal, but it requires a lot of patience, small fingers, and a bendy socket because of the very tight access to two bolts on the right of the throttle body.
A tip for anyone else tackling this job without removing the intake manifold: some used chewing gum also helps to hold the bolt in the 8mm socket when trying to guide the bottom right bolt back into place with the bendy socket.
@computerwiz4 It's not hard at all! My 15 yr old son with limited mechanical experience, did it on mine, he had no issues. In fact, we have been doing a bunch of work to this vehicle and have both been remarking on how easy it is to work on.
I replaced some injector too, and while I was there I took the whole intake to clean it too and engine bay as well, make it more it easier and do some inspections around👌🏻
I just had my replaced due to very small leak from the housing. Was thinking to try stop leak liquid but after thinking twice i took it to mechanic. They charged me for 3.1 hours. I asked for the old part, took it home and opened to see out of curiosity. The rubber seal has already kind of melted (main reason for the leak). A plastic round plastic part inside the housing which is touching the spring was also broken.
