This 1976 Land Rover Series 3 received a full rebuild with the full galvanised treatment and a fresh coat of pastel green paint, now looking fantastic once again its out and about and will be for many more years to come. / ieuan_md
Wonderful job - well done. When watching your video, I slowed the speed down by half to get a better appreciation of your excellent work. Made the music sound a bit funny though.
Lovely! The only thing I can’t work out is why you went to such great lengths - but didn’t clean up the engine and boxes? A coat of paint on the engine block would have completed it for me. Top work regardless though - well done.
Thank you for your kind comments. As it happens I personally agree, however the owner didnt! I'm not sure how obvious it is in the images but the vehicle has military origins and the engine was covered in military paint and markings, although not the tidiest finish the owner wanted to keep that part of its history as a little talking point. Personally for these reasons I would have restored it to its former glory, but hey, customer is always right! If you watch our restoration of the cream series 3 you'll see we did freshen the engine up and that would always be our preference also. Hope that answers your question, sorry for rambling!
hey @leuan md I'm a big fan of your videos. I'm currently restoring a land rover series 3 myself, the restoration is going well however I'm having trouble finding a safari roof and side windows like the ones that your land rover has in the pictures before the restoration, anyway i was wondering if there was any possibility that you might be interested in selling the roof and side windows?
I won't name any names but we have found that cheaper brand seals tend to be far to firm of a rubber. We've had doors just refuse to fit nice and simply changing the seals for another brand has let them click shut just like they should do. Send me an email at info@apolloautomotive.co.uk if you need any further help.
