The plaintiffs say the defendants co-own a boat, and the defendants did repairs on it. They say one of the defendants put a stop payment on the check, and now they aren’t getting paid, so they’re suing for the outstanding bill. The defendants say they just brought the boat in to be checked out but claim they never authorized any repairs, so they won’t pay up. #RealityTV #Court

As an auto mechanic you pay to handed back your keys. Now with a boat the boat can be tested in a shop with ear muffs on the lower end but that wouldn't load the engine from water being in the body

@jessicapearson9479

That is what it sounds like. A good Boat mechanic would take it for a test run if the problem was loss of power/dying. That way they could see if they actually fixed the problem or if that was really the problem. Also, owners should learn about their boat and how it works and all the parts that make it work. Just like any other vehicle.

There are definitely a metric crap ton of shoddy mechanics out there especially with boats but one thing is for sure, just because you find and repair one problem doesn't mean there's not 10 more coming behind it. As a good mechanic you should instinctively be looking for these potential "layered problems" and as a vehicle owner you should realize there may be more than one problem and it's not always easy to find them all at once. Point being both mechanic and customer need to do their due diligence before the finger pointing starts and personally I prefer to "take care of the customer" rather than hop on the blame game! It's always possible I've made a mistake, misdiagnosed a problem or gotten a defective part.

So wait the auto mechanic guy trumped the boat repair guys? Ooooh yeah. The repair guys were pulling the defendants' legs and wallet, thinking they're two old dudes and they have retirement money and they're a great gold mine. They kept finding stuff that might potentially be the problem but end up not really being the issue. Yeah the repair guys are crooks. They might have gotten more work for repairs that didn't address the problem but I hope this case hurt their bottom line and they get a bad rep in the boating community.

I have learned so much about communication watching these types of shows. Judge Judys show is perfect for that too lol I never realized how much people don’t listen! They are either lying and avoiding or just not listening at all! I have tried to be more mindful of that because it’s embarrassing as hell watching these litigants 😂😂😂
@amayahiko948
@amayahiko948 3 года назад
@@Neenaross214 what people usually dont know is that language is behaviour. For example they may not react because they think they are not listened to. So.. here you learn ;) Judge Judy is definetly all about her buisness and she knows and accepts that. People can watch her show, people know what they are in for.. so there is that But people who constantly fall into your words wether intentional or unintentional... make you feel "not seen" or "not heard" Judge Judy often lets one party (the accuser or the person demanding compensation) speak to their hearts content and often interrupts people who "dont answer her questions" the way she wants to. (they need to make their case.. and only if they are able to .. does she really need to listen to the defendant) But.. thats because people learned to talk about their trouble differently. In their enviroment its very usual to talk in stories. Thats how people often talk to eacht other. And to be fair - thats how I learned it too, before i was in therapy for my communication issues. I just DIDNT know how to get TO THE POINT. And back to the start.. language is learned behaviour ;) It is easy to judge they are not listening. Its often harder to deduce that they just go around the block instead of directly home ;) For that reason judge Judy often interrupts - which kinda makes people disgruntled since they dont understand. And with every scenario ever so often sometimes it really leaves the question did the Judge even listen? But thats another problem entirely.. the reason why you need a lawyer or someone experienced with court so they can prepare you. In this case, there are lots of Judge Judy videos out there.. and after a few you would know how she reacts and what she wants from you. Yes .. the child in yourself still wants to be heard.. and to be fair.. its good that she can differentiate as well as she does (skill wise) But its not.. plain black and white :) What the judge does is something based on experience. And she has to. She has to go through many cases on a daily basis i guess? Not even sure she works all day.. but she speaks like she does.. so i guess a hard working women.

Wow! $360 bucks to change a distributor cap? What a racket. Also the guy at the end said that the check valve keeps you from being able to blow through it, he is right, about one way. That’s what a check valve does, flows one way and not the other. Mechanics that rely on throwing parts at it till it’s fixed are poor at their trade.

Watch closely. At 14:15 when the defendants point out what was wrong. He new it was wrong. Also, when shown the picture of the distributor and asked it it was calcium build up or erosion, one says yes it is erosion while the other said no. They knew what the problem was and they were just doing everything they could to get more money from the elderly males and not fixing the problem.

The outdrive, bellows, etc. have NOTHING to do with an engine stalling and not starting. Also, there can be more than one problem with an engine. Maybe the cap/rotor (ignition) AND there's water in the fuel, AND a blocked fuel line... And I can see how the dealer could miss it: they probably used their own fuel line/tank with trying to repair.

Boat mechanics in vacation/beach communities often such at life. A crap shoot. I've had boats and have never had a "great" experience with any boat mechanic. They always seem to do half assed jobs, and they never seem to test their work (outside of jamming an outboard into a garbage can full of water)..

When you say a motor 'cuts out', that means it 'stops working', not that it 'slows down'. Doesn't anyone in America know how to speak English anymore?...

If anyone owns boats, fix something and another part goes wrong. I have three sitting in my yard that are being worked on. Test runs are fine one day next day something goes. New parts, boat certified mechanic so I get it. Boats are worse than cars. Gotta know before you go.

As a person who knows these engines the mechanics are clowns. The second they said what the issue was I was like fuel! I hope the defendants win the mechanics are definitely scammers or inept. Also yeah it's corroded, it's in salt, mine I bet money looks the same!

i see it all the time . Fixing an engine is an educated guess . Your supposed to have diagnostic data to back your theory up. sometimes its just easier ton throw a part at the engine. Some times your wrong. These guys throw parts at an engine making the customers eat unnecessary cost along the ways . They arent real mechanics.
