It is so sad to see that in this day and age you have to take a picture of a crack in your driveway that was pre-existing because people cannot be honest and admit to the damage that they did

So obvious the damage was done by heavy equipment. The defendant is a weasel!

Steven is a "shady" character who doesn't pay his subcontractors. He tried to cheat my hubby out of his pay... until we threatened to sue. We got our money FAST.

The defendant was a real jerk! I believe his chipper caused the damage to the Plaintiff's sidewalk & driveway. He was so blimey & thought his word was enough to sway the case his way. Hooray that he lost! And he was snotty to Doug, which is another strike against him.

The defendant lost the case as soon as he opened his lying mouth. He claimed the truck was not on the plaintiff's property, but in his court filings he says he got permission "to be on the plaintiff's property". And I'm guessing the employee Tim who was actually there that day didn't show up in court because he didn't want to lie and perjure himself....as I'm sure his lying boss told him to go lie.

This plaintiff was the best plaintiff i have seen. Not only did he have TONS of great pictures/videos as evidence, but he also had the invoice from the previous repair. He showed up to court PREPARED. The defendent was a slimy scumbag though.

In my experience,these rude af contractors and their associates tend to not give a darn about the neighboring properties. I have had to tell a few off or warn before hand at varies properties.

I had something similar happen to me when My neighbor had their tree branches cut. A branch hit the side of my house scraped the paint and dislarged my internet cable line from the pole. They said and did nothing to repair or make it right. My advice is to take pictures before work starts. This way you can protect yourself and the company doing the work.

I was not ready to hear the defendant get passive aggressive with Doug! I did haven’t laugh out loud on that.

This is maybe the third time The People's Court has posted this case and I enjoy watching it every time. I never quite understood why Milian was so hostile toward the plaintiff at first but in the end it pushed him to prove his case. I had so much fun reviewing all of this wholesome evidence! 😂

I had pavers put into my back yard and the contractor said he would leave his trucks on the street to avoid damaging my driveway. I thought he must have learned the hard way or it's common sense for them.

S.O.P. must be to take before and after photos with time stamps on every job. Both the contractor and especially the homeowner should take pics. Whenever you move into a new apartment take pics. When you drop a car off at a bodyshop or rent a car, take many detailed pics. It takes about 10 seconds. I think Plaintiff's driveway had pre-existing conditions but the defendant was a piece of work. Notice his jeans? Major ego. Decent verdict. I think she got it right.

'Gypsy scam' was his downfall

The state I live in...The city does not take responsibility for injuries if anyone falls, trips or gets injured from a broken sidewalk. They make it the homeowners fault that is in front of Said sidewalk

Having worked pipeline construction for our gas utility, I can tell you that people complained all the time that we cracked their sidewalks, driveways or whatever. This is with three inches of grass growing in the cracks when we got there. This was before we had cellcams, but they had claims that were ludicrous. They had four blades of grass in the treelawn, but expected us to replace it with sod when we were done. They would reall go crazy when we made temporary repairs using coldpatch or 304 limestone. You'd try explaining that this is Cleveland, it's January, and it's 10° outside and you can't put in concrete for 3-4 months. They'd call the company demanding it. So many scammers.
