Landrover Freelander 1 IRD/TRANSFER BOX Being Reconditioned 

good video ,i have mine apart but wouldnt go any further as i was unsure how to dismantle the crown section and didnt know where shims are still not sure on the shimms .

On the side that goes into the gearbox is the littlest part of it meant to turn with the bigger part when you turn the pinion or should that littlest bit not turn. Just asking as mine is off the car to see what's a matter with it and someone is saying it should turn and someone else is saying it shouldn't

missing how to remove IRD oil cooler, missing how to calculate shim to coupling pinion and crown...

Are the bearings easy to do?

Its a disgrace how Landrover never addressed this issue,they should be ashamed of themselves,I'll never buy Landrover again 😠

OK GOOD VIDEO BUT YOU MISSED THE MOST IMPORTANT THE SHIMS, AND THERE IS A DIFFERENCE IN THEM AND THE IRD UNIT ON THE NEWER ONES (FROM 2000 ONWARDS) SPECIALLY WITH THE BMW 2.O DIESEL ENGINE THE SHIMS ARE THICKER AND LAST LONGER...

you made it seem so easy, sadly to say this is not true.a pain in the butt to arm and dis arm.
