They need Edey. Edey scores better than Clingan and Sarr. And rated high in agility drills and shooting at the combine than both Clingan and Sarr. Sarr is Gobert, D with no offense. Clingan is Zubac, can clog the middle and score some but not a “go to” guy. Edey is Jokic, not as good a passer and shooter but great post game and D. If they trade down they can get Edey plus another player for the #1 spot.
The league goes more and more to the off side. Fans want teams that score and are fan to watch. The league favors teams with off game. Referees like off teams. Sarr will be at least someone similar to Turner and a poor Embiid. He is 19, prof athlete already, quick, soft touch, moves, can run... Clingan is enormous, but he is a dinosour, I am afraid to tell.

Bricey, a couple things I saw reports that Zaccharie had a private workout with Atlanta and San Antonio last week. So is this week an additional workout? Also on Seth Lundy he had a ankle surgery toward the end of the year and is still out, he has not been cleared to play which is likely why he wasn't mentioned. Also could've just been an error of omission from Landry.

The Hawks are in a very advantageous situation. They just neen to not screw it up. WE have three good guards in Young, Murray and Bufkin. Decent SGs in Bogdanovic and Krejci. Good, young, solid athletes in the forward spots with Hunter, Bey. Johnson, Griffin. Then some good bigs with Capela, Fernando, OO and Gueye. A long, quite solid roster that should be improved with a nice draft pick and a trade. I believe we need a better SG and we have way tooooo many bigs. Also one of Trae and Young could be traded. If we can get Ingram and Jones for Murray or Young and Capela, that would be like a very good trade (also for the Pelicans) and we would have like a second play creator in Ingram. i'm with you. undecided on who we should pick. i trust the front office b/c at the end of the day they have a shitload more intel than we have. i'm more interested in what happens in free agency.
Go watch the Illinois game. He dominated. His drop coverage on pick and roll is very good. He is able to recover and use his wingspan. He is growing on me. I am no doctor but I heard his foot injury wasn’t serious. Not like zydrunas from Cleveland.
There's no guarantee that any number one pick will succeed. There's no true consensus number 1 pick. All these players are not finished products. They are young. I like how people don't have any idea how to own a successful business take pot shots. If you can't enjoy entertainment, why get frustrated
I do like Clingan and I do believe that he will be a solid NBA player. To draft him number one overall is asking for trouble. I will start with Clingan. 7'2-280 screams chronic foot and knee issues, and of course, games missed. That is the health risk in this. Let's talk about on the court. The Celtics just won the NBA title and we all saw how they did it. Aside from their suffocating defense the second strongest aspect of their team is three point shooting. You want to know the third, and in my opinion , the most important aspect of their ability to play five-out when they force teams to alter their rotation. With Clingan this is the dilemma the Hawks will constantly see themselves and because teams are going to put him in a lot of action, particularly away from the basket. Watching his foot speed Bricey, it is sometimes frighting and looks as if he has weights attached to his feet. That automatically suggested that this guy will regularly be played off an NBA court. Again, the Celtics, and to a much lesser extent, the Pacers, this young man has less than a small chance. Let's focus on the positive stuff that Clingan brings to the table. His reactionary time on defense could translate to high-level. If a team wants to unlock his full game, focus on his offensive ability. Can he make seventeen foot jumpers at a reasonable clip is that too much to ask because if he struggle with that, then what is he offensively. His passing is fine but is he being defended by smaller ;players when he can just look over them, for do his passing requires very good vision. In the NBA things are going to be much different than that. I don;t like to do racial comparisons, so he reminds me of a better version than Andre Drummond and I think I might be too kind there because Drummond is in his double digit years in the NBA, can Clingan play that long. The Hawks better get this right because I have suspicion that Trae Young is ready to bail on them. In other words, the Hawks should start planning ahead and the player I would risk it all with is Alexandre Sarr. Bricey, I think you would agree that Atlanta is not a free gent destination. so Atlanta has to hope and pray, or luck into that dude. With all due respect to Trae, I'm not talking about the fashion in which he came to the Hawks, I'm talking about the Hawks having the number one pick in the draft and get hot right because that is how you change the fortunes of an organization. Keep up your fantastic work my friend. And as a side n one, I have a different vibe about those Falcons. Something could brew this season.
Good show man! First time listener. You were spot on about the size or lack there of with the hawks players. Skinny and small. Clingan is big with a huge wingspan. I believe he is the pick.
