Can I just congratulate Clint, who so very delicately maneuvered those rocks into place with such precision and care. He made it looks easy. Aaron, you continue to outdo yourself with the editing. Laura, beautiful garden design, in spite of some pretty daunting obstacles. Benjamin, good job being cute! ~ Lisa

Nice landscaping. Our property has many rocks, most the size of a small automobile. LOL. That is an insane price for stones. I guess it's more about trucking. My husband carved one large stone into a birdbath. Looks awesome.

I think those rocks look amazing! Great job Laura. The thing many people forget is you can plant for the day or plant for the future. By planting for the future it looks awkward for the day but amazing for the future, and planting for the day looks amazing for the day and awkward for the future.
@timvandermey4792

Topically planting for future is less expensive, less plants and smaller so lower prices. For rocks it is the opposite, fruture planting is more expensive.

Hi. You should really do an update on this front garden. I think it would be really interesting to see how it evolved 😊 . It looks beautiful in the video but I think now, some 3 years later, that it is absolutely gorgeous, now that everything had a chance to mature some.

Hi, I have landscape rocks and love them. Some techniques the company used to get boulders into hard to access areas were: 1. Used a dolly 2. Drug one on a sturdy tarp 2. Rolled one on pipes. Lifted one that was on an elevation , by use of a plank. On my bucket list is to go to Easter Island to see the monoliths!. Rocks add such great texture and shape to the lanscape💛

My goodness gracious. I still have dreams in getting rid of big rocks on our land 40 years ago, just so we could plant a landscape and garden. Now they are paying “big bucks” to place them back in yards!!! Ha! A new generation. But your brothers yard is very pretty, thanks to your expertise!

I live in Michigan on 80 acres. I have boulders in my landscaping and I am fortunate enough to have them all over the back of our property. My husband puts them in place with his back hoe. I love how they kick up the landscaping a notch. Great video and thank you for sharing with us.

Love love love the rocks. I just love rocks. I think about their stories. My grandchildren and I make up tales to tell about different journeys of big rocks and they are so fun. I get a rock every time we travel, at least that we can lift. Tee hee. I have a corner rock garden and my husband says every time...NO MORE ROCKS! I win. 😂 it’s looking so pretty. Tfs. 👏🏻👏🏻💕

What a great addition to the plantings! And I love how they match the foundation of the house. I kind of think that “buying rocks”, especially for a whopping $500 is a bit crazy but then again when bottled water came out I thought “Who would ever pay for water???” Lol. There’s a market for everything I guess!

So with you there Diane E. Next is canned fresh air. It blew my mind when I saw an app for "mindful meditation".....ummm is tech not the exact opposite of calming sources? Yeah that made my jaw drop. I have rocks like this in my woods and use twice as what is in this video in my garden. I never thought anything about it until this video. To think I have $1k of rocks in my garden is outrageous. I also have an area with a bunch of charcoal gray slate rock on the side of a highway near my house that i simply stop at and stack it all in my truck and then drive off for free. It looks great stacked and bordering my garden beds. I'm sure people would pay an arm and a leg for it.

I have a xeriscape front yard, alot of rocks in the backyard. I live in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia Canada zone 6A. We live in mountains surrounded by ponderosa pines. We suffer forest fires yearly. Water conservation is HUGE here so xeriscape makes sense. Try big rocks in the yard, you'll love it.

We have 8-10 (3'x2-3')rocks in our landscape and I'm so glad we bought them. One thing to note is over time they settle and kind of "sink" into the soil. Since then I have noticed that landscape companies put gravel where the boulders will go and compact it with a tamper then add the rocks. I would recommend that or place them on undisturbed soil. (we removed a lot of clay soil and added a truck load of good soil for our planting beds, then added rocks.

One hint I learned from a professional landscape architect is to "dig" in the rocks. If you look in nature the rocks or boulders don't look like they are sitting ON the dirt but are IN the dirt. Dig a relief area, set the rock in and fill around the sides so you don't see the bottom . Just a thought. The yard is looking great.

I know this response is a year later than when you originally filmed this video (I'm binge watching in July 2020-lol) but I really like the boulders you placed in areas of the flower bed along the sidewalk especially since the home looks like it is on a busy street. FYI - When placing large stones of this size, it is generally a good idea to partially bury the stones for a more mature and flowing look. This way the stones don't just look like they were randomly placed with a boom arm & claw.
